“This is a terrific opportunity for families who have been priced out of the market to buy a quality home in a great community,” said Tony To, executive director of HomeSight. “These homes are energy efficient, easy to maintain, and designed to be well-suited to today’s lifestyles.”
HomeSight, a nonprofit real estate development and mortgage lending organization, and the King County Housing Authority worked together to design and develop the three- and four-bedroom homes. The homes, which are situated on the corner of Southwest 100th Street and Eighth Avenue Southwest, are being marketed through Prudential Real Estate Realty Network Team.
Up to 450 new homes will eventually be offered for sale at Greenbridge at a variety of price points. The HomeSight homes are intended to be affordable to families earning at or below 80 percent of the King County median income or $64,400 for a family of four.
The Greenbridge neighborhood features a new elementary school, library, and early learning center and is easily accessible to downtown Seattle in about 30 minutes on several Metro bus routes including 22, 23, 54, 85, 113, 120, and 125.
Amenities and Floor Plans
The five three-bedroom, 2.25 bath homes are priced starting at $249,900; the two four-bedroom, 2.5 bath homes are offered starting at $274,900. For an extra fee, early buyers can opt to connect to natural gas, allowing for a gas cooking range in the kitchen.
The three-bedroom model is 1,349 square feet. It features an open kitchen overlooking a combined living/dining space. An alcove suitable for use as a small study is located off the living/dining area.
The four-bedroom model is 1,500 square feet. It features a large eat-in kitchen and a separate formal living room. A bedroom and a 3/4 bathroom are located on the main floor.
Both models include energy-efficient appliances (including washers and dryers), 9-foot ceilings, an abundance of ENERGY STAR windows, patios in fenced back yards with a southern exposure, landscaping, and inviting front porches. Concrete paths leading to the front doors of the homes are embedded with bronze raindrops that echo other public art in the neighborhood. Carpeting and vinyl flooring, as well as off-street parking, round out the amenities.
Johnson Braund Design Group is providing architectural services for the HomeSight homes. Peter Davis Builders is the general contractor for the project.
Affording and qualifying for these traditionally styled homes
Presales are expected to initiate the homeownership activity at the site where 448 rental apartment homes have already been built. The first two homes will be available for occupancy as early as April 1.
To enhance the affordability to low-income first-time homebuyers, HomeSight is offering purchase assistance loans of up to $45,0000 that can be layered on top of conventional mortgages.
Reservations are now being accepted for these seven homes. Interested buyers should contact HomeSight at 206-723-4355 or visit www.homesightwa.org for more information about these homes and free homebuyer education classes. A public open house will be held March 3 from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. at 803 SW 100th St. Prospective buyers can also contact their real estate agent or Jada Pettigrew at Prudential Real Estate RNT at 206-650-3286 to view the homes at their convenience.
