Artlantis R, Artlantis Render's worthy successor, has surprising capacities in terms of computing speed, rendering quality, low price (only 595USD), and user friendliness. Each projected view, each perspective can be memorized (then stored in a list created by the user) and recalculated independently according to all of the parameters that make up its environment (geographical positioning, camera placement, focal distance, light sources, date and time, foreground and background etc.). The SDA (selective display accelerator) allows, with the OpenGL display booster, the interactive handling of scenes that can reach several millions of polygons, and selects for you the most significant
faces to display so you can manage interactively the models.

Informative Graphics Corp. (IGC) announced that its Brava Web visualization software is now available on the EMC Documentum 5.3 platform, the world's first major enterprise content management (ECM) offering based on a completely unified architecture, and has received the EMC "Designed for Documentum" designation, a mark of quality and value that customers demand in enterprise applications.

The 2005 International Conference on Computing in Civil Engineering is acknowledged to be one of the premier events in the field of Computer Applications in Civil Engineering. The theme of the 2005 Conference is "Dare to Think Outside the Box; Push the Envelope; and Present the Future in Computing in Civil Engineering".

This Conference is geared toward professionals and researchers who are interested in computing in a wide range of civil engineering disciplines, including:
  • Infrastructure Life-cycle Management
  • Construction Engineering and Management
  • Structural Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Transportation Engineering
  • Geo-technical Engineering
  • Hydraulic Engineering
  • Sustainability
  • Disaster Preparedness, Response and Recovery

The 2005 Watershed Management Conference, "Managing Watersheds for Human and Natural Impacts: Engineering, Ecological, and Economic Challenges" is sponsored by the Environmental and Water Resources Institute (EWRI) of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). This will be the ninth in a series of specialty conferences focused on watershed management. The conference was first held in Billings, Montana, in 1965 and has been repeated every five years since. This year's conference will be held east of the Mississippi River, where the problems and challenges of urbanization and sprawl are particularly acute. Urbanization and land use change
are pressing concerns throughout the U.S. as well as other parts of the world. In addition to the traditional challenges of meeting water quantity and quality regulations and flood mitigation requirements, today's hydrologic engineers and watershed mangers must also contend with managing for sensitive species, the arrival of new water-borne diseases such as the West Nile virus, and increasingly complex regulations (e.g., TMDL's).
