BST Global 2006 User Conference attendees got an advance preview of the company's next solution version -- BST Enterprise(TM) Version 8.2 -- slated for release this summer. The conference, "Connecting People, Process and Technology," was held April 3 - 5 at the Grand Hyatt in Tampa. Conference attendance, which has been steadily rising since the conference's inception five years ago, increased 33 percent over last year. Primavera Systems, Inc., announced that it was named by Forrester Research as the leader in the Project Portfolio Management (PPM) market. Primavera was one of 13 vendors invited by Forrester Research to participate in the recently released report titled, "The Forrester Wave(TM): Project Portfolio Management, Q1 2006." Primavera's position in the Wave is based on Forrester's evaluation of each vendor's current offerings, strategy and market presence.
Michael Baker Jr., Inc., an engineering unit of Michael Baker Corporation, announced that the team of Baker and Mascaro Construction Co. has been awarded a $26.4 million design-build contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, for architectural design, engineering services, and construction of a new Joint Medical Logistics Center, Ft. Detrick, located in Frederick, Maryland, for the Military Medical Logistics System. Baker will be responsible for the design component of the project, which is valued at $2.1 million.
Oce announced the appointment of Jaime Escudero as General Manager of Oce Mexico. Mr. Escudero has been a member of the management team of Oce Mexico since the company was acquired from GE Access Information Systems in January 2001.
Sage Software announced the appointment of John Geffel as senior vice president and general manager for the Construction and Real Estate business unit, responsible for the company's award-winning Sage Timberline Office business management system.
Deltek, provider of enterprise management software for project-focused organizations, announced that WelcomRisk 2.6, its newly acquired risk management software solution, was recently named a winner in the 16th Annual Software Development Jolt Product Excellence Awards. WelcomRisk is a risk management solution for the systematic identification, mitigation, and reporting of organizational and project risk, both threats and opportunities. Deltek announced the acquisition of Welcom, a global leader in earned value management (EVM) and project portfolio management (PPM) solutions, on March 20.
Meridian Systems announced the availability of Crystal Reports XI for Prolog, an enhanced reporting solution that allows AEC industry firms using Prolog software to get the most out of Prolog's reporting functionality. Prolog software is the industry standard for successful construction project delivery. To bring this new Meridian solution to market, Meridian signed an OEM agreement with Business Objects to integrate Crystal Reports XI, the world's industry standard for enterprise reporting, within the Prolog environment. This agreement gives Prolog customers access to several new report formatting and design capabilities beyond the current capabilities of Prolog's Report Manger.

AccuBuild, LLC has released a Direct Deposit add-on feature for its AccuBuild Construction Software Payroll module that allows employee paychecks to be electronically deposited into bank accounts, eliminating the need to deposit paper checks. This allows construction companies to offer a significant benefit to employees: the convenience of having immediate access to their payroll funds.
The Dimension 3D Printing Group, a business unit of Stratasys, Inc. introduced the Dimension(R) 768 Series 3D Printers, the industry's first 3D printers to break the $20,000 price barrier.
