McGraw-Hill Construction and McGraw-Hill Professional, both businesses of The McGraw-Hill Companies, announced the upcoming launch of the McGraw-Hill Construction Book Series. The two groups' collaboration will benefit the industry by bringing timely and practical resources to architects, engineers, contractors, specialty contractors, and other construction professionals.
Autodesk, Inc. announced that JumpTap will utilize the award-winning Autodesk LocationLogic platform to offer location-based mobile search services to mobile operators in North America and throughout Europe. The strategic alliance between the two companies grew from JumpTap's involvement with the Autodesk Location Services Developer Program, where the two companies shared the vision, resources and support needed to harness the power of location- enabled mobile search. Autodesk, Inc. in partnership with Nucor Detailing Center and Avatech Solutions, announced NuBeginning, a program to address the diminishing supply of engineers by getting young students excited about the field as a career. NuBeginning is an initiative to bring learning opportunities in 3D model based design as well as 2D design and drafting to high-school students. Two high schools in Nebraska are the recipients of free Autodesk software and instruction provided by industry experts and educational consultants from Avatech Solutions.

Autodesk Inc. announced that it will continue to be the exclusive provider of 3D design software for engineering to Project Lead the Way (PLTW) schools for the next five years and has provided significant financial support to the non-profit pre-engineering education program. Equipped with tools such as Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Revit software products, which are used by engineers, architects and designers, students in more than 1,700 PLTW programs in schools nationwide will have the opportunity to visualize and experience their ideas through the power of model based design projects.
Governor Edward G. Rendell announced that a new statewide partnership designed to advance environmentally-friendly building technologies and construction will receive $2 million from the state to get off the ground.
The Pennsylvania Green Growth Partnership complements the state's drive toward energy independence by providing the construction industry with new resources and incentives to incorporate energy saving and efficient technology into its designs and buildings, Governor Rendell said.

Objects that lie around, shadows, noise, reflections of light, markings, etc. In short, a lot of what is visible but is often not seen determines Tuerlinckx' work and her thoughts on architecture. This is far from being her first exhibition. She has previously exhibited at documenta XI in Kassel (2002) and has had solo exhibitions at the Renaissance Society in Chicago (2003), the Badischer Kunstverein (2004) and The Drawing Center in New York (2006). 'After Architecture After' is her first major project in Belgium since 1999 exhibition at the SMAK in Ghent.
