Autodesk, Inc. announced preliminary financial results for the third quarter ended October 31, 2008. Based on preliminary financial data, the company expects total revenue to be in the range of $604 million to $607 million. GAAP earnings are expected to be in the range of $0.41 to $0.43 per diluted share. Non-GAAP earnings are expected to be in the range of $0.53 to $0.55 per diluted share and exclude $0.07 related to stock-based compensation expense and $0.05 for the amortization of acquisition related intangibles. McGraw-Hill Construction, part of The McGraw-Hill Companies released its 2009 Construction Outlook, which forecasts a drop in overall U.S. construction starts for next year, as the tough funding environment continues, construction projects are deferred, and financial stress gradually eases. Against this backdrop, the level of construction starts in 2009 is expected to decline 7%, to $515 billion, following a 12% decline predicted for 2008.


Frank Gehry and the 160 professionals of the world-renowned architectural firm
Gehry Partners, LLP will relocate to this coastal California community in early 2009, occupying 75,000 square feet in a campus being developed by NSB Associates, announced Lawrence N. Field, Chairman and CEO of NSB.

Gehry Partners is currently developing the master plan for the campus, said Mr. Field, and will add 15,000 square feet of space to the 60,000 square feet of existing structures. Occupancy is expected in the first or second quarter of 2009. The property is located between Utah Avenue and Alaska Avenue, near Aviation Boulevard.

LightWork Design announced the winner of the latest LightWorks Image Competition.

Nemetschek North America announced that Vectorworks firm Shook Kelley won the Firm of the Year Award 2008 from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) North Carolina Chapter.

The award is given to a firm that has consistently produced quality architecture with a verifiable level of client satisfaction, for a prolonged period of time. Only one firm is selected each year from among many qualified applicants, making this the highest honor that the Chapter can bestow on a firm.

Océ announced that the Océ ColorWave 600 large format color toner printer was honored with a "MUST SEE 'EMS" Award at the GRAPH EXPO conference in Chicago. In addition, numerous other Océ hardware and software solutions received prestigious "Worth a Look" and "Encore Worth a Look" recognition. Océ PRISMAproduction software Version 4, the Océ VarioPrint 4120 digital printer and the Océ Arizona 350 GT wide format printers were named "Worth a Look" winners, while the Océ ColorStream 10000 color system was an "Encore Worth a Look" winner.

Tekla Corporation announced the workflow integration of the Tekla Structures software and Trimble construction layout solutions. Now structural steel, structural concrete, and general contractors can create Building Information Models (BIM) in Tekla Structures software or import BIM from other applications, export the data directly to the Trimble field layout solution and use the highly accurate data to lay out and construct complex buildings and structures.

Vico Software is pleased to announce the upcoming release of the 2009 Virtual Construction Suite. This major release of the software extends a basic BIM model to 4D for scheduling and 5D for costing.
