Cadac Organice, a Microsoft Gold certified partner and developer of Organice, a SharePoint based solution for Engineering Document Management and Document Control, announced a partnership agreement with
AvePoint, a provider of infrastructure management software solutions for Microsoft SharePoint. As a result of this partnership, Cadac Organice will be empowered to offer AvePoint’s SharePoint solutions to customers as part of the Organice Product Suite.


OGC announced completion of the AECOO-1 (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Owner and Operator) Phase 1 Testbed, a 9-month effort to increase interoperability among software used by architects, construction companies, cost estimators and building energy analysts. On Thursday, May 28, 2009, from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. EDT, the buildingSMART alliance (bSa), the Open Geospatial Consortium, Inc. (OGC) and sponsors and participants of the AECOO-1 Testbed will conduct a free webinar demonstrating results from the Testbed.

Nemetschek North America is pleased to announce that Swiss Vectorworks user Peter Zumthor has been chosen as the 2009 Laureate of the Pritzker Architecture Prize. Peter Zumthor has been a Vectorworks user since 2002.

The Pritzker Architecture Prize is awarded each year to a living architect for significant achievement and was established by the Pritzker family of Chicago through their Hyatt Foundation in 1979. Often referred to as "architecture's Nobel" and "the profession's highest honor," it is granted annually.

Intergraph has released the newest version of its next-generation 3D design solution SmartPlant 3D with expanded functionality. SmartPlant 3D 2009, part of Intergraph's integrated SmartPlant Enterprise portfolio, offers significant additional functionality, increasing its unmatched productivity even further.

Intergraph has introduced the first Military Grade rack-mount workstation combining rugged hardware and a sealed, solid state computer and memory to ensure protection from punishing environmental conditions and mission-ready capability.

The patent-pending Intergraph TD-R(R) 7X11R-S series rack-mount workstation was introduced at the Navy League's Sea-Air-Space Exposition in National Harbor, Md.

Oce announced that it is releasing an integration between its most popular monochrome print devices for facilities management (FM) applications, including the new Oce PlotWave 300 system, and ARC's PlanWell EasyPrint software. This new functionality enables users at FM locations to easily print drawing files that are located in a PlanWell online planroom using the interface of the Oce device. From the Oce printer interface, it's easy to navigate to the PlanWell planroom, select entire document sets, view and print them directly to the Oce device.

COADE announced the release of COADE PV Fabricator, a new software product for the automated production of design and fabrication deliverables for pressure vessels and heat exchangers, including 2D layout and detail drawings, bills of material tables, nozzle schedules, weld details, title block, nameplate, notes and any other annotation that may be needed for deliverables.

COADE announced the release of CADWorx Design Review 2009, providing for faster, easier and more intuitive 3D review of plant design models for collaboration among designers, project managers, facility owners and other stakeholders involved in the review, modification and approval of designs prior to fabrication or construction. With 3D review of models, stakeholders reduce the need to interpret designs via paper printouts and other non-interactive methods, and they can improve collaboration with tools for markups, design comments and red-lining, which helps reduce the chance for errors and omissions in the design.

COADE announced the compatibility of CADWorx 2009 with AutoCAD 2010, with full support for this latest release announced by Autodesk. In addition to compatibility with AutoCAD 2010, CADWorx Plant Design Suite 2009 for process plant design, initially released in 2008, incorporates new capabilities and performance-enhancing features. For example, CADWorx Plant Professional was enhanced with valve top-works capabilities that allow users to place valve hand wheels, levers, actuators, and other items using specification-driven selection routines. Enhancements in CADWorx P&ID Professional enable process and instrumentation diagrams to be checked out and checked back into the
main project database. New to the CADWorx line is CADWorx Steel Professional Plus, a package that quickly and accurately designs steel structures.

DRCAUTO SOFTWARE announced the release of the highly anticipated AutoCAD 2010 compatible version of their !Slingshot Max software.

!Slingshot Max 2010 introduces more than 60 commands to AutoCAD(r) 2010 suite including: X-REF Manager, True Type Color, Irregular Viewport, Set DWG Associate, Move Object's Layer, Erase Object's Layer, Layer Previous Mode, Improved command access. !SlingShot Max 2009 also includes - VPCLIP, XCLIP, all of the Image Commands (IMAGEATTACH, IMAGEADJUST, IMAGECLIP, IMAGEFRAME, IMAGEQUALITY, TRANSPARENCY), Layer Tools, all of the Shademodes, 3D Orbit and Continuous Orbit, and much more.
