Previously, the report collected responses from a survey of HR managers. With the addition of the new individual survey, the report will collect a more comprehensive and diverse range of data from a wider variety of respondents.

"We know HR professionals are very busy and we appreciate the time they spend on the survey, so we base questions on previous answers. If your responses indicate that your firm doesn't employ any civil engineers, for example, the survey skips over questions about salaries for civil engineers."

Every year, the salary survey provides a comparative standard for those in the architectural and engineering industries. Businesses rely on the report to learn how competitive their salaries are, while individuals use it to determine how their salaries compare to the average.
