City of Seattle Department of Transportation Expands Use of Construction Project Management Software from Meridian
Meridian partners P7 Integration and Kelar Pacific provide Prolog software implementation services across new transportation capital projects

FOLSOM, Calif. (August 11, 2009) -- Meridian Systems, the Plan-Build-Operate (PBO) technology solutions leader for project-based organizations, announced today that the City of Seattle Department of Transportation, (SDOT), has expanded its implementation of Prolog® software's online project management and collaboration solution, ProjectTalk, to further standardize its capital construction management processes. ProjectTalk provides robust functionality in a Software as a Service (SaaS) environment. SDOT is working directly with P7 Integration and Kelar Pacific, LLC, Meridian value added resellers, to implement ProjectTalk on new transportation-related capital projects.

As a public agency, SDOT adopted ProjectTalk to manage complex capital projects more effectively and improve construction project accountability. SDOT originally selected ProjectTalk as its project management solution for the King Street Station project. After the initial evaluation period, SDOT decided to expand this roll-out to manage the Marion Street Upgrade and Spokane Street Widening Projects. In addition, SDOT plans to further expand its ProjectTalk implementation across a variety of highways projects over the next two years.

SDOT selected P7 Integration, in partnership with Kelar Pacific, LLC, as its professional services provider. P7 Integration sells the Prolog suite of applications as well as provides implementation, training and consulting services. Kelar Pacific assists customers in the planning, design, procurement, set-up, installation, training and successful implementation of an integrated solution.

"During the first year of using ProjectTalk, SDOT utilized the system to manage only major capital projects. However, they now plan to standardize across the Capital Projects & Roadway Structures Division," said Steve King, president, P7 Integration. "While ProjectTalk will be initially rolled out for sizable projects such as the Marion and Spokane Street Projects, it is well suited to allow SDOT to manage large, medium and even small projects in the future."

Prolog software delivers total project management control for construction projects by automating day-to-day tasks and processes, from project design to close-out.
