Epson launches next-gen family of large-format printers
July 22nd, 2014 by Susan Smith
Starting in September, the new next-generation family of large-format color printers – the Epson SureColor T3270, T5270, T7270, T5270D, and T7270D will be launched. Epson product manager, Timothy Check, gave me a demo of these printers at the Esri User Conference 2014 in San Diego last week.
Available in both single- and now dual-roll models, the SureColor T-Series features the Epson PrecisionCore TFP print head and Epson UltraChrome XD pigment ink to provide AEC and marketing professionals with high performance prints and scans using a brilliant ink set. Epson has added two more printers to their SureColor T-Series lineup –their dual role model now comes in 24”, 35” and 44”. They are scalable and can include the Adobe Postscript engine. The 36” and 44” are the Multifunction SureColor T5270D. The 24” does not have a scanner and it uses the Adobe Postscript module also. These printers can print on thick poster board type material. Scanning is done face up. According to press materials, the Epson SureColor T-Series delivers impressive line accuracy with resolutions up to 2880 x 1440 dpi at very fast speeds – producing a presentation quality D-size plot in as little as 25 seconds. For increased efficiency, the SureColor T-Series single-roll printers utilize a horizontal catch basket for enhanced output stacking, while the dual-roll printers feature a high-capacity catch basket for quick retrieval and reduced sorting time.
In addition, the SureColor T-Series 36- and 44-inch printer models offer an optional multifunction (MFP) module, enabling PC-free full color scan and copy capabilities – up to 36-inches wide – at best-in-class speeds for added convenience. In addition, ergonomic design with intuitive copy and scan-to-share capabilities ensures seamless integration to maximize workflow performance.
The SureColor T-Series is comprised of five printer models, offering varying performance and feature sets to accommodate a range of printing needs:
