Renga Architecture 2.4 Version Released for Architectural CAD Design

From St. Petersburg, Russia, the ASCON Group, the developer and integrator of professional AEC, MCAD, and PLM systems, has announced the release of Renga Architecture 2.4, architectural CAD design software. The Russian company has incorporated into the new release the concerns of users, such as separate views of individual objects (such as columns, beams, windows, and doors), an update to the display style dialog box, and a way to locate offset columns and beams.

Renga1Really Renga Architecture is on the road to becoming more flexible and more of a tool that architects and designers want for their workflows.

Display Individual Objects

Changes in Renga Architecture include the ability to get views of columns, beams, windows, doors and other objects, by marking objects and then choosing them from the object list to place them in draft view. Architects said their clients were requesting layouts of things like, all windows with their different sizes, which could then be sent on to production.

The previous process was somewhat inconvenient but now 2.4 places the objects in draft view in just two clicks.

Object Display Styles

Users can easily see individual objects in Renga 2.4 in each view through the following properties:

  • Display style
  • Level of detail
  • Properties for projections and sections

In previous versions, users could not adjust view styles, and they only had visibility of objects while viewing. Now users can set styles, detail and properties for projections and sections.

Users can hide all objects other than the needed walls, windows, doors, and staircases and then assign thickness, line type, and color to the lines as needed. To display only the walls, partitions, and doors on a floor plan, you change object visibility.

Future levels of detail will be added to Renga Architecture, but currently users can assign a level of detail and adjust display complexity of the objects displayed in views.

Users can assign thickness, type, and color of lines to objects that are displayed in draft mode. when adjusting projections of objects.

In Section views users can change properties by setting the display of line thickness, type, and color, as well as specify the hatch pattern of sectioned objects.

Placing Offset Columns and Beams

Now users can specify the locations of columns and beams in relation to their axes so that they can be placed with existing objects in models. This way they can be inserted off-center if need be.

Engineers of rolled metal product design may also find this feature very useful.

Duplicating Styles

An exciting new feature in Renga Architecture 2.4 is the style editor, that allows duplicating styles, so that users can create variations of major features such as doors, windows, text and columns, etc.

Expanded Marking

There is a “with the same mark” option in Renga Architecture 2.4 so that marking is expanded beyond just choosing objects for draft views. These assigned marks can choose all objects with the same mark automatically.

Other New Features

Renga Architecture 2.4 offers the following additional features:

Inserting special symbols just got easier. Now users can insert special symbols into table cells via the new Symbol option. To use this command, you click on a cell, and then use context menu to choose the symbol you want to insert.

Users can now adjust the look of borders surrounding selected cells with the new Borders option.

Visual styles for draft views are the next step in renderings models with Renga Architecture 2.4. Visual styles are available in three versions – wireframe, monochrome shaded, and color shaded – giving draft views more information other than what was previously provided in 3D.

In Renga Architecture 2.4 is the ability to hatch objects that are cut in section views. This section hatching is applied to objects on a single layer automatically. For multi-layer construction, the hatch is taken from the primary layer’s properties.

Renga Architecture supports BIM (building information modeling), and continues to exchange data with other information modeling systems through the IFC (industry foundation classes) file format. This is an ongoing process.

Objects for IFC export is another important area that Renga 2.4 supports by adding localized names of the objects for IFC export. This way Renga 2.4 documentation is compatible with other IFC-compliant applications.
