AMD Announces AMD Radeon Pro W5700 Professional PC Workstation Graphics Card

At Autodesk University 2019 held this week in Las Vegas, NV, AMD announced the AMD Radeon™ Pro W5700, said to be the world’s first 7nm professional PC workstation graphics card. According to company materials, the new graphics card delivers new levels of performance and advanced features that enable 3D designers, architects and engineers to visualize, review and interact with their designs in real time, dramatically accelerating decision-making processes and product development cycles.

BAM Ireland Adopts Autodesk BIM 360 and Construction IQ for Full Data Potential

Manu Venugopal, senior product manager, BIM 360 Construction IQ, Autodesk, spoke with AECCafe Voice about BAM Ireland and its data management challenges prior to adopting Autodesk BIM 360 and Construction IQ. Royal BAM is one of Europe’s most successful engineering and construction companies, with over 21,000 employees and thousands of projects ongoing each year. The sheer volume of papers and files the organization handles is astronomical and has been difficult to assemble in a useful and comprehensive way. By digitizing their workflows they were were able to achieve a 20% reduction in on-site quality and safety issues, and 25% more time to focus on high-risk items.

Unity 3D’s PiXYZ Plug-In Real Time 3D Tool Changes the Face of Workflow Models

Tim McDonough, general manager of Industries, for Unity3D spoke with AECCafe Voice about the PiXYZ plug in that can be now used to host AEC projects in Unity3D.

PiXYZ Plugin and PiXYZ Studio for Unity allows you to import IFC BIM files into Unity. The 2018.3 version of the PiXYZ products are now available and can import the geometry from Revit and all BIM 360 data.

COFES 2019 Charts the Future of Technology
