Each year when I look back on what was accomplished during the technology year, I’m amazed at how many of the same topics come up. The reason for this is most likely because none of the challenges put before the AEC industry are going to be solved that easily. The technology used to solve real-world problems keeps evolving and the problems themselves become morphed or more urgent.
For example, climate change has been on our agenda for several years now. It’s not going to go away.

Furthering the delivery of Building Information Modeling projects has been a challenge for many years, but new technology can now make it all easier and more accurate. Panzura, a leader in collaborative file and data management for global enterprises, announced a partnership with AVAIL™, a leading digital content management platform for building professionals The partnership aims to help distributed design teams deliver high-quality Building Information Modeling (BIM) projects faster and with more predictable outcomes.
The companies’ joint solution, announced at Autodesk University in November, introduces an integration between AVAIL, Panzura Freedom and Vizion.ai. The integration unifies data silos across the organization into one global cloud file system, and enables team members to collaborate efficiently using a single source of truth to data.
Randall Stevens, CEO of AVAIL and Jason C. McKinney, SVP of Alliances and Channel at Panzura, spoke to AECCafe Voice about the partnership and future plans.
