Pete Mann, SVP of Corporate Development for Deltek, spoke with AECCafe Voice this week about Deltek’s acquisition of ComputerEase, a company that is known as a standard in construction accounting, project management, and field management software for contractors. Deltek is a global provider of software and solutions for project based businesses. The announcement was made on Monday, August 12th.
According to company materials, over 6,000 contractors in North America use ComputerEase’s integrated construction solutions, offered on-premise or in the cloud, for streamlining all aspects of their businesses. Founded in 1983, ComputerEase software includes job costing, construction accounting, project management, field management and other add-ons, including fleet and asset management, as well as certified payroll – which address the concerns specific to construction industry businesses. ComputerEase is valued for its scalable approach to construction.
For decades, Deltek has offered award-winning solutions to A&E firms of all sizes. With the combination of Deltek + ComputerEase, the company secures its place in the construction industry, adding to its powerful portfolio of solutions for architects, engineers and construction firms. The end result will be rather an end-to-end approach to AEC firms across the board who are looking to coordinate their workflows.

GeoCue President and CTO, Lewis Graham, answered some questions for GISCafe Voice about GeoCue products and their new TrueView platform. TrueView is UAV/LiDAR fusion by design, according to company materials, an integrated LIDAR/camera fusion platform designed from the ground up to generate high accuracy 3D colorized point clouds.

Marie-Pierre Aulas, La Fondation Dassault Systèmes' General Manager, spoke with AECCafé Voice about the La Foundation Dassault Systèmes’ steps to preserve our planet and encourage sustainable solutions through innovative technology. La Fondation Dassault Systèmes, which announced a new project to support the preservation of the world’s oceans. The announcement coincides with World Oceans Day, celebrated annually on June 8.
The project has two goals: improve the experience of learning science for children and students while helping them to be better prepared for new jobs involving sustainability, and contribute to finding solutions for sustainable development. Applications are open for researchers, students and communities to submit their ideas for preserving ocean habitats.
What companies besides La Foundation Dassault Systèmes are also taking steps to preserve the planet and encourage sustainable solutions?
Regarding our project, some organizations are already collaborating with la Fondation, such as the Ifremer (the French institute that undertakes research and expert assessments to advance knowledge on the oceans and their resources, monitor the marine environment and foster the sustainable development of maritime activities), and French Public organizations for education, such as the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation.
