New Data Manager and Data Visualization Features Characterize Vectorworks 2020

This Tuesday, Vectorworks, Inc. announced the 2020 release of Vectorworks Architect, Landmark, Spotlight, Designer and Fundamentals, as well as 2020 versions of Vision and Braceworks. This newest release brings improved software performance, quality enhancements and new data-driven workflows.

In an interview with Vectorworks CEO Dr. Biplab Sarkar, he spoke of the areas that Vectorworks addresses in the 2020 release. “Data and usability are the cornerstones of this year’s product line enhancements,” said Dr. Sarkar.

Tekla 2019 North America BIM Awards Small Projects Winner: Top of the World Summit, Whistler Mountain

For those who have dreamt of walking in the clouds, there is a new attraction at the Top of the World Summit of Whistler Mountain, located in the Coast Mountains of British Columbia. The Cloudraker SkyBridge and Raven’s Eye Cliffwalk is a new 130 meter-long steel pedestrian suspension bridge leading to a cantilevered viewing platform, anchored into rock and projecting 12.5 meters out from the mountain’s edge. At more than 2,100 meters above sea level, it is thought to be the highest pedestrian bridge in North America and offers access to spectacular 360-degree views of the Whistler Valley and surrounding mountain peaks.

Deltek Acquires ComputerEase to Add Integrated Construction Solutions to Their Portfolio

Pete Mann, SVP of Corporate Development for Deltek, spoke with AECCafe Voice this week about Deltek’s acquisition of ComputerEase, a company that is known as a standard in construction accounting, project management, and field management software for contractors. Bentley Systems Webinar Focuses on Digital Twin Technology

Bentley Systems hosted its Spring Update Conference Call this week about the progress of the company, with a focus on Digital Twin technology. In addition were two product announcements and the acquisition of Keynetix, a UK-headquartered provider of cloud-based software for capturing, visualizing, modeling, and sharing of geotechnical data.

With OpenSite Designer, users can create intelligent 3D models for civil site projects complete with site information, terrain data, parking lots, building pads, driveways, sidewalk, parcel layout and related site features.
