The segment opens with Sarah Hodges, Senior Industry Marketing Manager, AEC, Autodesk. Sarah opens by noting that 10 years has passed since Autodesk acquired Revit and that it is important to note the progress and evolution since then which today is celebrated with the arrival of Autodesk Revit. She then highlights the state of the AEC industry in terms of BIM adoption, efficiency, new business models and technology innovation as applied to real-world business and design challenges. Sarah goes on to talk about how Autodesk is expanding BIM on the desktop and in the cloud and introduces the Autodesk Building Design Suite 2013 and Autodesk 360 the cloud computing platform available on Subscription. Armundo Darling, Senior Technical Marketing Manager, AEC, Autodesk, then conducts a series of short demos of new and enhanced features, with an emphasis on the new Autodesk Revit 2013 (available exclusively in the 2013 Autodesk Building Design Suite Premium and Ultimate editions). Kelly Cone, Innovations Director for The Beck Group, concludes the session with a presentation offering his view of the state of the industry and the role of BIM and technology. Throughout Kelly’s presentation real-world projects, such as the Kimbell Art Museum, SaRang Global Ministry Center and Dallas Arboretum, are used to illustrate his key points.
