Askim museum by moh-architects designed using Rhino

Saturday, July 23rd, 2011

Article source: moh-architects

The competition was about designing a museum for a private art collection. The functional program of roughly 2800sqm had to be embedded in the surrounding fabric in an intelligent way, credibly delivering a strong figure/anchor for the region while not overpowering the delicate natural backdrop.

RIBBONs / Open Air Theater in Taichung city, Taiwan by Makoto Sei Watanabe

Friday, July 22nd, 2011

Article source: Makoto Sei Watanabe

The brief for this design was a canopy, backstage rooms, and other new facilities for an existing outdoor theater in a Taichung (Taiwan) city park.In 2005, I did the spatial design for an exhibition of contemporary Japanese art in the Austrian city of Graz. Entitled RIBBON, that project featured a ribbon weaving through space, rising and falling, at places becoming the wall of a booth and at places becoming a canopy to guide the visitors. The Graz ribbon figured in the preliminary discussions for this project, so the design concept was approached from that direction.

The community is adjacent to the Ambassador Bridge which connects the U.S. to Canada and is the largest border crossing in North America. The heart of Mexicantown, along Bagley Avenue, is defined by a restaurant district, retail, a youth center and a variety of cultural enterprises. Additional landmarks present in the area include Ste. Friday, July 22nd, 2011

Article source: FORWARD Architecture & Interior Design

An apartment in downtown Lisbon, designed by FORWARD, aims at being a place of refuge for the young cosmopolitan couple who seeks peace and calm, forgetting the daily city buzz.

When we enter the house, we are surrounded by its sophisticated and relaxed environment, with light and comfortable areas, with clean elegant lines, marked by the reflexes of the mirrors that extend the vertical elements subdividing them, and by the lighting shapes that emphasize architectural details, setting directions and giving rhythm and some drama to the different sceneries planned for home living.
