Competition 2009, third prize

Competition entry for a new Ljubljana administration centre of 60.000m2. The brief proposed several departments to move to the same site but occupy different buildings. The heart of the centre is the main hall where citizens could also arrange all the documents. The site is just on the edge of Ljubljana city centre, by the river and is already occupied by some existing protected buildings.

The first impression with which the Abu Samra house receives the viewer relates to its use of materials and color. By rejecting the conventional use of stone in Amman, and by extending both its textures and the whitish tones associated with most examples of this material in Amman.

Area 8 on the bella island in Italy by studio KUADRA

To mark the bicentenary of the death of Giuseppe Piermarini, ( Foligno, 18th July 1734 – 18 February 1808), the architect of the Scala opera house in Milan, the Minister for Art and Culture and the “ National Committee for the Celebration of the Bicentenary of the Death of Giuseppe Piermarini” have organised a workshop to honour the work of the architect.

Milano Stadt Krone 2030 in Milano, Italy by Studio Shift Architects

Commissioned by the Architectural and Urban Forum (AUFO) of Milano with support from the Comune di Milano, this is one of twelve proposals located on the periphery of the historic city center offering conceptual solutions for the densification of Milano. Each proposal injects 25,000 inhabitants into the existing fabric of Milano for a total population increase of 300,000. The exhibition opens June 16, 2010 at the Politecnico di Milano.

SteelStacks is a dynamic arts, culture and education campus located on 4.5 acres of former Bethlehem Steel Corporation brown field in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Anchoring the campus at the foot of the historic blast furnaces is ArtsQuest Center, designed by Spillman Farmer Architects.

Common for the projects shown is that they represent the agency’s desire to create an innovative, contemporary and timeless architecture with the landscape as the contextual raw material.
