This SoHo boutique hotel was designed by ODA in collaboration with Perkins Eastman Architects. Custom interiors by ODA with Amanda Sullivan, blend artistic essentials and luxurious functionality. The hotel design strategy was to bring community together with hospitality. Each detail of the hotel was meticulously fashioned to inspire the senses with a blend of traditional as well as contemporary.
A sixteen acre farm located on Salt Spring Island, an island in the Strait of Georgia between Vancouver Island and the mainland of British Columbia, the site of this house is bisected from east to west by a long row of mature Douglas fir trees. There is a gentle slope falling across the site from south to north. The south half of the property is an orchard containing a variety of fruit trees; the north half of the property is a hay field.
The complex is a hybrid of intervolving programs which form 3 main external spaces:
Entry plaza facing Via delle Macchine
Plaza is opening towards the new mooring stage for sailing boats. It is formed by squares of different floor tiling accompanied by trees, water feature and benches. It forms entry to the main units of managerial use and commercial areas.

Our good friend Young Joon Kim asked us to join forces in a competition for a residential development in the area of Gapyong, not too far from Seoul. Yo2 has been developing the masterplan and invited MSA (Marina Stankovic and Tobias Jortzick), CAT (Kazuhiro Kojima), Unsangdong (Joon Gyo Jang), FOA (Alejandro Zaera-Polo) and NL to participate.
Amsterdam based project development corporation NIC started sale of the MVRDV designed Alphabet building. In Amsterdam small and mid-size creative companies have trouble finding suitable office space. The Alphabet building communicates through a clear exterior design which reveals on the East façade the house number and at the main façade the extension for each company, a letter of the alphabet. The interior is highly flexible and completed with a rough and pure finishing. The 3200m2 creative industry building will be completed in 2012 according to high energy efficiency standards.
The verge of the very city centre encourages free defining of the content and the intensity of activities. The proximity of the railway, a sports centre with a large parking lot, and a block structure with residential verticals provide the entire area with pronouncedly urban character. The new hybrid structure is complex and multilayered, but unfortunately limited in height by the brief.
Hillcott barn an old Herefordshire threshing stone barn located in the village of Hope Mansel near the Forest of Dean featured on Channel Four’s Grand Designs series in April 2006.
Hart van Zuid is an industrial area in city of Hengelo. The district is located south of the train station, right in the heart of the city. The area is defined by the typical emblem of 20th century production: the saw-tooth shed. Hart van Zuid is currently being redeveloped; it will be converted into a lively quarter where people will live and work comfortably. Hart van Zuid is a statement against monoculture: urban life will be celebrated here in a mixed use environment. Education and leisure will be a part the spectrum. High tech industrial activities remain a crucial component.
The interior design for the new Puma House Tokyo, located in the city’s Aoyama design district. Puma House Tokyo combines Puma brand’s press room and event space into one space for the first time. Puma House Tokyo is a multipurpose space that can be used for exhibitions, events, fittings, product launches and other media events. It is also available for rentals.
