Located in Chelsea between 10th and 11th Avenues and situated between two other prominent New York galleries, this building is a secondary exhibition space for the Gladstone Gallery and was designed to house large installations of sculpture. Respecting the area’s industrial warehouse buildings, the façade is constructed of dark grey hand-cut brick of unusual proportions, laid with filled joints to underscore the monumental appearance. The façade features a large opening on the ground floor and ribbon windows on the upper levels.
Proposed design promotes an idea of visual and functional merging of the newly designed part with the existing Beton Hala building, to create a unique center for exhibition and commercial use in Belgrade, which also communicates in a mimetic way with Kalemegdan fortress and Sava river’s waterfront.
Marina House is CEBRA´s third building under construction at the Aarhus Harbour – besides this TK2 and The Isbjerget will be built. Marina House contains 45 apartments for young people adding up to some 2.700 m2. The units are arranged around a central stair with access to dwellings from every landing. The idea of these split levels are graphically emphasized through colored façade bands and shifted balconies locking into each other.
This project deals with the extension and the restructuration of a young workers residence, a 10-levels building made of a concrete structure with overhangs every 2.50m and built in a brutal way in the 1970s on the Fondation Eugene Napoleon domain, a group of Heritage buildings.
It was a very narrow and long plot. There was an existing construction with very small rooms without natural light. We had very long medians and very narrow façades at either end.
The Joenniemi Manor was built in 1935 by the architect Jarl Eklund. The floor plan and design of the building point to the clear influence of Functionalism and English country house architecture. The park and formal garden featuring geometric landscape elements are designed by Paul Olsson in the same year. At that time, this style of landscape was unique in the Mänttä village community. The Joenniemi Manor and its garden are symbols of the architecture in the early 20th century and express the cultural awareness in Finland’s rural surroundings.
Containing 2.8 million square meters of office, hotel, retail, and conference center facilities, the Rongsheng project will contain a city within a city. The mixed-use complex consists of two towers, for office and hotel functions, and a retail/entertainment podium. The towers are sculpted with a combination of concave and convex geometries that taper to give the towers a distinct profile. The curtain wall cladding strategy consists of a series of repetitive unitized curtain wall panels that appear to fade from the bottom to the top.
Port Phillip Estate Winery sits on a spectacular, undulating site overlooking picturesque vineyards, Westernport bay and Bass Strait. Sited atop a ridge, the building unfurls across site, spiralling out of the ground and slowly rising to form the eastern wall of the structure. This abstract, sculptural form conceals much of the mass and various programme within the building, presenting a bold and simple gesture toward the road.

EVERYTHING IS BETTER WITH A POOL
+ Pool is the collaborative initiative of design studios Family and PlayLab to build a floating pool for everyone in the rivers of New York City. The project was launched with the ambition to improve the use of the city’s natural resources by providing a clean and safe way for the public to swim in New York’s waters. As both a public amenity and an ecological prototype, + Pool is a small but exciting precedent for environmental urbanism in the 21st Century.

In 2004, the Norwegian Highway Department together with the Regional Government approached Saunders for a new project in the area; uniquely however, without having predetermined the commission’s particular needs.
