An exterior wall has an important role. It separates inside and outside. In many cases in wooden structure, exterior walls are divided into many layers for different purposes. The outer layer protect against weather, dirt and fire while inner layers need fireproofing as well as aesthetical attributes. As a result, the total thickness can be 20 cm thick. For this project we developed and add one more layer to it. Raised from the face of the unit, the translucent cladding softens incoming light and blurs the visibility of both passerby’s and inhabitants. Where in view of neighboring structures and street-level traffic, the milky surface extends over the windows to obstruct the view, while other less-compromised openings remain exposed.
Clearly visible from outside behind the glass facade, the grasp pendulum also provides a thematic introduction to the exhibition on human motor functions in the Medical Technology Science Center. The eight-metre high installation visualises the quality and complexity of grasping. It consists of three pendulum arms suspended in parallel, each of which carries 12 inward and outward-facing monitors. The screens show virtual hands, which interact with each other from one screen to another.
The new Pulpit Rock mountain lodge, the winning design competition entry in 2004, accommodates twenty-eight guest rooms, a café, a restaurant and a conference room. The lodge is situated at the trail-head leading up to The Pulpit Rock, the sheer cliff cantilevering over the Lysefjord.

Project update – December 22, 2011 – The Nathan Phillips Square Revitalization Podium Green Roof Garden has won two more Awards!!
Green Roofs For Healthy Cities 2011 Award of Excellence
DX Silver Award
The Podium Green Roof Garden is the first transformation in the competition-winning scheme “Agora Theatre” – the Nathan Phillips Square Revitalization. This three-acre upper-level component of Viljo Revell’s 1965 iconic City Hall and multi-level public square was originally conceived as a ceremonial public space, reached via a giant sculptural ramp. The space was never successful at attracting the public – it was a grim, empty, three acres of concrete that has been closed to the public for well over a decade. The Podium Green Roof Garden re-conceives this upper level as a vast public park integrated with the existing elevated walkway system, and while respecting the complex’s heritage status, reopening it to the public as a truly engaging 21st Century space. The project reconsiders how an extensive green roof providing a plethora of technical environmental benefits can be an exciting and successful public space that merits repeated, habitual visits. It is the largest publicly accessible green roof in Canada and the flagship green roof project for the City of Toronto that since 2009 mandates green roofs on all new buildings. By creating a vital community space that fulfils this environmental imperative, it promotes a broader concept of stewardship linking people to their environment.

The project screens the various programs to free up the largest garden possible while providing a real status of public facilities, cultural and social home neighborhood.
Sustainable development must begin with a general reflection of the building process, including on materials. It is important to prove that today, building a sustainable and energy-efficient, is not necessarily synonymous with building in wood. Indeed the extensive use of a material can quickly become detrimental to the economic market. Steel is a building material to take into account development considerations sustainable in many aspects.
Building a place for oneself is an opportunity with its own risks and difficulties. I chose a place in one of Granada’s earliest areas, the neighborhood of El Realejo enar Campo del Príncipe, on a site favored by views of the west side of the Alhambra, presided over by the Manuel de Falla Auditorium and the country house and garden of the Martyrs. Further back, behind the cedars, chestnuts, magnolias and palm trees in the gardens of the little hotels in Belén stands the Sierra Nevada mountain range. This lot would have been rejected by many because its tiny size precludes a conventional distribution. Only 3.60 meters deep and ten meters wide, this work is an exercise in minimums, a laboratory of light and construction intended for living.
The Hard Rock Cafe in Bangkok marks a new approach for the global Hard Rock brand. Designers Architectkidd and Prinda Puranananda have completed the new restaurant in the Siam Square district of Bangkok with focus on connecting music and architecture.
