Deposit of Archaeological Museum in Soissons, France by K Architectures (designed using ArchiCAD)

November 15th, 2011 by Sumit Singhal

Article source: K Architectures

Using a rusted metal-clad skin the Parisian architects K Architectures have made a formally bold, yet humble building that will evolve and weather with time, an object adaptive to its surroundings. The new archaeological museum in Soissons, France, pays homage to its heritage but is assertive in its place as a contemporary public building.” Architizer, may 2011

The only thing that emerges is an abstract and rangy building. Like a precious piece of ore, a “metallic endogenous rock” which pig material, submitted to natural erosion, is marked of red brown. At some places, the creature flatters itself with some ornamentation carve by laser (…)

The new archeological deposit museum will be established in this place, mashing up landscape and history… This deposit museum will mark its deference to the heritage but it will not forget to affirm itself as a public contemporary building, discreet but non absent. It proposes a new landscape, emphasizes the sensitive views, and buries its mysteries.
