Representative office of the largest Russian IT-company, Yandex in Kazan, is situated on the 16th floor of «Suvar Plaza» business center. With the area of 647 sq.m. it has only 41 working place. The office plan reminds a trapezium, while the midline of a trapezium is a corridor, leading from the main entrance to the fire exit.
Located in downtown Mexico City across the “Alameda Central”, sharing Avenida Juarez along with the “Palacio de Bellas Artes”, “Casa de los Azulejos” and the “Torre Latinoamericana” is located Sheraton Centro Historico Hotel, one of the most important projects of Pascal Arquitectos.
The firm was in full in charge of the architectural and interior design. The hotel occupies an area of 66,000 sqft and it is a 770,000 sqft construction of 26 levels houses 464 rooms, a convention centre, boutiques, restaurants, cafeterias, spa and an heliport.
Man’s well being is obtained through his experiences, relationships and the natural and built environment’s influence. In his daily routine or in a sporadic visit the user/worker must feel comfortable in the space that surrounds him.
The new ISSEM Headquarters is not envisioned as a building in its common sense, but as functional spaces that connect to the natural environment, that places man at the center of nature and allows him to perceive that life quality is intimately connected to the occupied spaces, the connection between interior and exterior, in the act of feeling part of something greater. Integration and communication are the headquarter’s base concepts – integrating man and nature, workers and users, interior and exterior – achieving true sustainability.
The Residential Cugat Natura Center is located in one of the most peaceful and exclusive zones of the city of Sant Cugat del Vallès (Barcelona), enjoying one of the most privileged views of the Golf Club of the locality and a directly access to the city center.
One important aspect of this kind of project is trying to understand which kind of users will use this center, and the needs that they have. In this residential center we can clearly differentiate between two different users; on one hand, those who haven’t got any degree of dependence, and that would like to have in their common lives the facilities that a residential center offers them, and on the other hand, people with a low-medium-high degree of dependence who need to be looked after and handled by professionals.
The Park House is a dramatic alteration and addition to what was originally a speculative ‘cookie cutter’ style house in a larger development (but in a fantastic park-side location in inner city Brisbane).
The house explores the reprogramming of two key areas, primarily associated with living and lifestyle. The first and foremost altered area is the kitchen / living / dining which has been redesigned to optimise the indoor / outdoor living experience.
Men distort and bend reality in order to maintain their face. Enhancing our image places us higher on imaginary scale of public opinion. Monotone grayness is covered by fancy facade, pretending to be special, but still empty on the inside. Monoculture fields of unified hi-rise offer forced equality to everyone.
It is in the human nature to shape their surroundings. We adapt it to suit our needs, to identify. But we can also ADOPT the surrounding as it is, give it a new meaning. We create a temporal city, one that changes in time and space. Let’s use empty capacity, and offer it for inhabitation. The city is a result of our will. Do not be afraid to use it as it was never intended to be used.
The architecture of the corporate offices for Mack Energy evokes the independent energy company’s engagement in oil and gas exploration, development and production in both form and materials. The boldly articulated curtainwall of the double height building entry recalls the skeletal form of drilling rigs whilecast relief on the concrete panels mimics the stratification of the earth. Throughout the building the abundant use of natural materials ties the structure to New Mexico’s diverse landscape environment — sun, desert, and mountains. Inside the atrium two of the soaring walls, clad in stone with a pattern that reveals the oil rich rock strata of southeastern New Mexico and west Texas, are also water walls that flow into a small interior pond though a channel imbedded in the floor. A tall, dramatic sculpture depicts a scene from an active well and echoes the articulation of the exterior frame.

The “Avenue de France” administrative building is sat on a site which imposes several constraints. It was built on a site bordering the CFF (national) railway lines, limited on its northern end by the Avenue de France and adjacent to a pre-existing building. The site’s topography also imposes varying conditions namely: the railway tracks to be found at the lowest point, the level of the access to the underground parking, the level of the Avenue de France over-passing the railway and the general level of the existing adjacent buildings. It is worth noting that before construction of the building the site had long been considered as ‘unsuitable’ for development.
Light, bright and colorful: the architecture of the new Surgical Center on the Oberer Eselsberg in Ulm. The building was designed by the KSP Jürgen Engel Architekten Munich Office, having won the competition in 2001. The Surgical Center / Dermatology blends into the surrounding landscape and, with the “floating” ward block, also sets a distinctive architectural tone.
In June 2012 the six departments of Ulm University Hospital moved into the new Surgery / Dermatology building with their patients. The medical institutions, previously scattered over various sites, are now brought together in the new hospital building which will further improve medical care in the Ulm region. The Surgical Center provides sufficient space for 15 state-of-the-art operating rooms, 235 regular care and 80 intensive care or monitored beds. The building, which offers gross floor space of around 70,000 sq.m., was completed in four years within the scheduled timeframe and budget.

Water management is still the most important function of Amsterdam canals. Without them, the city would drown. Circulating the water is also vital for sanitary reasons. In the days when windmills had to do the job, the stench of the water could become unbearable in periods with little wind or rain.
Three times a week, 14 of the 16 existing waterlocks around the city close up, so clean water can be pumped in from the big lake IJsselmeer. The current that is created pushes the dirty canal water out through the open locks on the other side of the city. Specialized cleaning boats with big scoops and nets patrol frequently clean surface debris. Since 2005, all the houseboats in the city are connected to the sewer system.
