Porosis Pavilion in Belgrade, Serbia by Studio Méta-

Friday, June 8th, 2012

Article source: Studio Méta-

Porosis Pavilion is a temporary mobile pavilion located in Belgrade, Serbia. The space of pavilion is inspired by the porous condition of bone. Bone consists of cellular structure in voronoi system which is rigid and stable. The pavilion allows experiencing the porosity through the combination between the space and the structure.  The density of voronoi structure defines space for the temporary exhibition, as it is denser in the enclosed back space of the pavilion and opens up towards the front with less dense structure. The structure itself defines the facade aesthetic of the pavilion.

Friday, June 8th, 2012

Article source: CMV Architects

The Water Hotel is laid up of 25 plants, five of them destined exclusively to hotel use. A building with an ultramodern image, as well as real and viable, that must adapt to the multifunctionality of the program, allowing the sufficient versatility to guarantee its effectiveness in front of any flexible use. For that so, a volume of two towers of square plant is made and joined by its diagonal. One of the towers is, exclusively, for hotel use, whereas the other lodges the offices and administration premises. This way we emphasize the height and slenderness of the building and at the same time it shows a diversified variety of shades and perspectives.

Serving as a counterpoint to the Curved House, the Shed is located on a repurposed Cul-de-sac adjacent to the residence. The construction method is an exercise in celebrating the logic and clarity of prefabrication. Conceived as a kit of parts, the elegant building’s steel frame combines modular wall components, roof trusses, and battens, all of which were assembled on site and clad with a rain-screen of White Oak taken from the property.
