A light intervention inside Palazzo Reale, is the exhibition project designed by Italo Lupi, Ico Migliore and Mara Servetto. On one side it creates a great dialogue with the pre-existing architecture, on the other is supports the narration and use of the exhibition. As a prelude to the exhibition, in the first rooms, long expository out of scale tables display a narration, both on paper and multimedia, about the historic exhibition of ’53 on Picasso in Milan.

The rooms that host the works of art are characterized by the presence of a continuous surface of white light, all over the perimeter external wall, that marks and guides the pathways and that is in contrast with the warm grey displaying walls: at the bottom there’s a continuous bench, that passes through each room, about 80 meters long, that allows to stop by and observe the works. In the Cariatidi room, beyond the wing that hosts “Massacre in Korea”, high self-sustaining wings lead to an innovative multimedia representation about Guernica, with a strong but balanced spatial intervention, a sort of spyglass of the great projection. Lighting project developed with Reggiani Illuminazione.
