The development that completes the urban composition programme of the town of Hérouville-Saint-Clair is an enterprise centre to the west of the Place de l’Europe. The requirements of the programme – the local employment centre, a business incubator and a restaurant – imposed constraints on the layout of the centre that were overcome by the three primary volumes being assembled in an apparent imbalance.
The design of Mann Elementary School was conceptualized with a vision to unite indoor and outdoor learning spaces, and to centralize the collaboration of students. The heart of the school is layered with “green” spaces that foster sustainable urban gardening and promote nature-filled learning. The indoor and outdoor structures are intertwined with lush green spaces and botanical gardens that allow students to learn not only in their classrooms, but also outside, fostering curiosity, learning, and discovery.
The project is inscribed within the urban tissue of Réchy. It contributes for the densification of the village, emphasizes the street front defined by its neighboring existing buildings and re-enforces the rural character of the site. Its compact volume, which scarcely uses land surface, restricts its visual impact.
The starting point is the direct relation to the dramatic archipelago landscape with the objective to offer within a simple frame – a platform – several diverse readings of the relation space-nature.
Conceived as a light weight construction in wood and glass, this summerhouse is built in the outer Stockholm archipelago. The horizontal character of the black stained exterior relates to the verticals of tall grown pines and the mirrored views of the Baltic Sea.
The residential house at the Millstätter See is a brick basement turn-of-the-century wooden house. Its construction date is estimated to be between 1900 and 1910.The construction assignment was to refurbish the perennially occupied house and to convert it into a modern summer house. The greatest emphasis was placed on keeping the original external appearance while adapting the internal space to make it contemporary and equipping it with the newest technology.
The new Leiner furniture store can be seen from a considerable distance as you approach Innsbruck from the East on the A12 motorway. The four story structure is a beacon, in Leiner’s corporate green, to people passing by. Along with the large areas of green, the angular form of the building itself makes a strong impression. Like a folded tablecloth, the translucent metal construction envelopes the volumes of the building. With this striking facade, Zechner & Zechner are taking a stand against the standardisation and anonymity of current furniture store architecture.
The project designed by Migliore+Servetto Architects for Pedrali has just been awarded in London with the Fx International Interior Design Awards 2012 – Museum or Exhibition Space category.
Organized by the English magazine FX, the 14th Fx International Interior Design Awards gives a prize to the best of interior projects and products from all over the world, realized from June 2010 to July 2012.
Inaugurated in July 2008 in Lyon, France, I-WAY is an international first. This exclusive building is entirely dedicated to automobile simulations (simulator technology offering 6 degrees of freedom inspired by the aeronautics industry), providing the public with access for the first time to eighteen machines. Organised around 3 simulation zones (Formula 1, Endurance, Rally/Touring), the complex also includes numerous upscale areas for a global experience: fitness room, alcohol-free bar, bar/restaurant lounge with terraces, two conference rooms, meetings rooms and offices.
The new school Nya Kollaskolan will be a center-piece in the new area Kollastaden in the center of Kungsbacka, a mixed-used area with around 1000 residential units. The school will supplement the existing school, built in 2000, and host around 360 students and 75 employees.

“As part of an on-call agreement, a leading financial services provider (LFSP) enlisted Davis Brody Bond in partnership with Spacesmith to renovate and expand their 9,200 sf office into an adjacent 6,600 sf of space on the 16th floor of the Cira Center in the heart of downtown Philadelphia. This phased renovation was coordinated with LFSP’s design & construction team in NYC & their facilities team in Philadelphia & Wilmington. Established LFSP workplace, finish, IT, security and AV standards were incorporated.
