Water at-traction in Paris, France by bureau faceB

New structure for new uses : a pedestrian bridge to stroll along the water

It’s in the heart of the city. One of its major attraction. However, you can barely feel it. Maybe on a boat, a little bit on bridges, anyway without intimacy. On the contrary La Seine has to be seen as an out of time place, telling you stories and History. A link through time and space: the water attraction.

Police Station and Multipurpose Space in Xixona, Spain by Daniel Martí i Pérez & Natàlia Ferrer Bernabeu

Monday, December 10th, 2012

Article source: Daniel Martí i Pérez & Natàlia Ferrer Bernabeu

The space requirement program requested by the developer (Townhall) included all the departments, public and restricted use, necessary for the proper operation of a facility of this nature. In the office we thought to incorporate a public space which could be used by the neighborhood as a multipurpose space that would allow us to provide greater flexibility to the building.

The Tree of Life: A Journey Through the Underworld in London, United Kingdom by Urban Brew

Monday, December 10th, 2012

Article source: Urban Brew

Visitors to the 2010 Bloomsbury Festival were invited to contribute to the evolving Tree of Life installation produced by Urban Brew. Produced to promote The Book of the Dead exhibition at the British Museum, Urban Brew interpreted the Egyptian Tree of Life into a site specific installation that attracted over 4,000 people. The installation reflected the importance the Ancient Egyptians attached to the ideas of life and death and invited the public to contribute by writing their name onto a paper bird, which would then be hung up to create a sea of flying birds overhead. The underworld was further explored in a series of soundscapes throughout the installation, produced by composer Jonathan Rousseau.

Article source: Glamuzina Paterson Architects

The parti of S_House divides the long thin lot into two gardens, challenging the conventional diagram of the front and back yard of the typical suburban house. The house becomes the active space between the gardens, and offers the occupants multiple views and sectional level changes as they move through the site.

Article source: Diederendirrix Architects

Transformation Boiler House Ceres into an office- and educational building. Boiler House Ceres belongs to the first generation of buildings on the university campus in Eindhoven and is one of the most valuable volumes on the campus. Technological evolution made the original function of the boiler house redundant, however, by reallocating the boiler house to be the accommodation for the ICMS research institute, the TU/e can ensure it is preserved.

Container Hotel in Crimea, Ukraine by ZA Architects

Sunday, December 9th, 2012

Article source: ZA Architects

The main idea of the project is to create a flexible and multi-purpose solution for small and medium-sized hotel business. Here we suggest a modular structrure which can be easily  implemeted throughout Ukraine. If some changes in the insulation parameteres of certain details and in the layout of the hall should be made, this design can be realized in  other climates as well. In terms of structure, the hotel represents a construction kit on the basis of pre-fabricated units, such as “Containex”, which have the dimensions and technical specifications of maritime shipping containers.
