Foster is comprised of three series of crafted objects and is the result of our collaboration with Ibuki, a non-profit organization based in Sonobe, Nantan-city, Kyoto prefecture. Ibuki is a group of young master craftsmen from varying disciplines with the common goal of preserving Japan’s traditional crafts through education and practice. During our time in Sonobe we worked with two wood craftsmen, Kenta Kuzuhara and Kozo Sumitani, and one ceramicist, Hiroshi Nagai. Our desire in this collaboration was to develop design concepts that would challenge the skill set of each craftsman, while remaining pure in the aesthetic value and practical in use.
The design project for eight new classrooms for the School of Economics and Business at Murcia University, the result of collaboration between Ecoproyecta and Adhoc msl, has been defined from the beginning by sustainability criteria with respect to energy efficiency and material selection. The original building was designed and executed by the studio Adhoc msl and the architect Enrique Carbonell at the end of the 1990s. The general scheme of the building was determined by four classroom and office blocks, with east-west orientation, that cross with two perpendicular communication rooms, with north-south orientation.

This project belongs to a series which explores massing that liberates space, and that renders protagonist that which “is not”. Such “blank space”, in the form of courtyards, subtractions, or voids, articulates the building. Light is given by indirect and unique openings. The structure is solved with large surface elements, which are manifested as enclosure. This accumulation of load-bearing mass yields great facade panes, with generate shadows and transparencies of unique artistic value.
The Boston Esplanade Pedestrian Bridge is proposed as part of the master plan to restore the iconic 1908 Longfellow Bridge across the Charles River between Boston and Cambridge. The existing, obsolete pedestrian bridge next to the historic bridge will be replaced with a wider, ADA compliant bridge that will better complement the arches of the historic structure.
The shopping mall ´Forum Mittelrhein´ and the Kulturbau Koblenz, which is constructed now, together form the design for the redevelopment of the Zentralplatz, the central square of Koblenz. The Zentralplatz not only connects the various districts of Koblenz with each other but also has an important function as a public transport interchange and place where various pedestrian flows come together.

A successful decade behind the console of his Manhattan-based Vault Mastering Studio, convinced engineer, Nathan James that he could shift his growing family back to their hometown of Phoenix and maintain a thriving business. Having developed a strong client base ranging from rockers like The Fray to jazz vocalist, Gretchen Parlato and comic Louis C.K., James was confident his skills would continue to attract interesting national projects. After establishing temporary quarters with a local mastering house, James’ next order of business was to retain the Walters-Storyk Design Group to create his new studio.
In the midst of a small commercial area on the western borders of the town, the production hall and the office building of the former `schwabenglass` company are situated directly on a heavy traffic street named `Im Allmey`. After a takeover by the Swiss company `glastroesch ag`, the company’s Kempten location was named `interior competence centre` for southern Germany. The subject of the architectural concept was centered around the feasibility of bringing together the newly needed exhibition rooms with the unchanged capacity for required office space.
The city of Tartu has the goal of implementing high-quality modern architecture in new public buildings. The new kindergarten, which is located in one of the most dilapidated areas of Tartu (the so-callled Chinatown is a former Soviet military garrison), is a result of this policy. The kindergarten´s layout – a six-cornered, star-shaped floor plan forced into a square – arose from the desire to avoid long corridors and to create an orderly outer perimeter and street space for the building. Building is situated on one edge of the plot and leaves the southern side free as a play area.
This project tries to address a mega problem at a micro scale — Chinese urban residents‘ increasing isolation from nature. Kunshan is in the Yangtze River delta region, a flat land with lots of rainfall. Towns in the region historically developed a unique landscape of crisscross canals and numerous ponds. Traditional buildings were next to or even cantilevered over the canals.
Three Storied house located in Moratuwa completed in January 2012. A dwelling amidst a busy context that was designed to differentiate the internal space from its busy surrounding to create a serene space within.A minimalistic architectural language used to create the tranquility and to provide an effective hideaway from the hectic lifestyle of the owner.
