The aim of the contest was to select the best urban and architectural design for Plac Wolności (Freedom Square) and Rynek Zduński (Stove-Fitters’ Market Square) in Kutno. Such features as spatial development, functionality and practicability were taken into consideration.
This single family residence sits on a spectacular Okanagan property on the west bank of Skaha Lake. The building is oriented towards the view to the south of Kaleden Village and eastward towards the lake.
The building is the result of an architectural competition fostered by Spain’s leading car insurance company, Mapfre, calling for a new tipology responding to an innovating service offered to its clients: a centre where damaged cars are taken by the client, expertised and stored before distribution to external repair centres.
The three-floor dwelling house is situated on the slope, edge of a forest on the outskirts of Heilbronn. It faces south and offers a sublime view to the surrounding area. A floating design and the use of natural materials using concrete, glass, copper and larch as structural material characterize the single family home. Besides the structural members that establish contact with the ground, the rest of the house is constructed out of wood.
Interior Architecture Preserves Original 1940s Warehouse in Santa Monica’s Former Industrial Corridor Gwynne Pugh Urban Studio with Andy Waisler has recently completed an adaptive reuse of a 1940s bowstring truss and brick warehouse in Santa Monica. The 17,000 square foot building was artistically designed for a well-known animation studio that has recently achieved significant commercial success. Urban Studio designed an interior renovation that is warm, forthright and efficient, while also elegant and inspiring.

Highlighting the three livings distributed in three floors connected by a panoramic lift, and several balconies from where you have a privileged view of mountain range of Santo Antonio da Patrulha.
The design for the international school campus includes both new buildings and the renovation and restauration of existing (national) monument buildings. The new building houses the entrance hall, primary school, a basement with a multifunctional (gym) hall, a media library, a dance and drama studio and a NOC NSF sport hall. For the most part, the renovation of the five buildings that belong to the National monument contain teaching functions.
This house was built for a husband-and-wife couple and their two children. Overlooking a field of sweet potatoes, the quiet and tranquil site lies adjacent to a house occupied by the client’s parents. The space that lies between these two houses is used by local residents as a path, and retains a sense of easygoing, neighborly charm. In order to preserve a rich sense of these connections between nature and people, we decided to install a large sliding door in the front of the house.
After 10 years of working in collaboration with architects like Renzo Piano, Massimiliano Fuksas and Oscar Niemeyer, Massimo Alvisi and Junko Kirimoto founded the architecture office Alvisi Kirimoto + Partners in 2002. A few years afterwards they established an engineering partnership with Alessandra Spiezia and Arabella Rocca in 2008.
