The design:
The location of the house was chosen at the highest point of the property. A curving driveway coming from the west toward the building. By chosen by the architect cruciform plan, a kind of atrium of the Entrance spatially defined. Here also all the functions of “arrival” are inside.

Through a short corridor you get into a kind of “crossing”, which together with a central staircase, the extravagant Development element forms. The crossing areas / Kitchen + Dining / Living here over floor to ceiling sliding elements are played open or disconnected.

To the north, rather closed, open the living areas to the south and west over large Glass facades to upstream open spaces. Situated on the front of the house slightly lowered Pool one has a magnificent view of the city and mountains. A lying in front of the crossing wooden terrace offers, covered from view by the cantilevered structure of the upper floor a central weatherproof outdoor lounge area.

On the upper floor on three sides, the bedrooms are organized around the staircase. Each space is preceded by a porch and / or roof terrace. In the West, the large loggia in front of the spa offers views and evening sun.

Materials:

The house was built in massive construction. Reinforced concrete slabs, ceilings, brick walls and punctual steel columns form the primary structural elements. Good thermal insulation, plastic windows with triple glazing, passive solar energy use and geothermal heating pumps provide a good energy balance. Generous canopies and external shading at a comfortable indoor climate. Different facades of wood-based panels, plaster and aluminum corrugated sheets reinforce the cubic appearance of the house.

Interior and furniture:
Lighting and furniture were developed together with the client and to a formal Concept adapted. Large format ceramic tiles on the ground floor and planks walnut form the bottoms. Floor to ceiling door units are decorated in walnut.

High quality finishes are available in an exciting contrast to the rough concrete ceiling, the building owner in the laborious manual work was hand sanded and sealed. The architectural language of the building manifests the confident, modern and dynamic Attitude of the owner and his family on the outside.
