This project belongs to a series which explores massing that liberates space, and that renders protagonist that which “is not”. Such “blank space”, in the form of courtyards, subtractions, or voids, articulates the building. Light is given by indirect and unique openings. The structure is solved with large surface elements, which are manifested as enclosure. This accumulation of load-bearing mass yields great facade panes, with generate shadows and transparencies of unique artistic value.
The Boston Esplanade Pedestrian Bridge is proposed as part of the master plan to restore the iconic 1908 Longfellow Bridge across the Charles River between Boston and Cambridge. The existing, obsolete pedestrian bridge next to the historic bridge will be replaced with a wider, ADA compliant bridge that will better complement the arches of the historic structure.
The shopping mall ´Forum Mittelrhein´ and the Kulturbau Koblenz, which is constructed now, together form the design for the redevelopment of the Zentralplatz, the central square of Koblenz. The Zentralplatz not only connects the various districts of Koblenz with each other but also has an important function as a public transport interchange and place where various pedestrian flows come together.

A successful decade behind the console of his Manhattan-based Vault Mastering Studio, convinced engineer, Nathan James that he could shift his growing family back to their hometown of Phoenix and maintain a thriving business. Having developed a strong client base ranging from rockers like The Fray to jazz vocalist, Gretchen Parlato and comic Louis C.K., James was confident his skills would continue to attract interesting national projects. After establishing temporary quarters with a local mastering house, James’ next order of business was to retain the Walters-Storyk Design Group to create his new studio.
