2012-2013. On a 12 meters by 13 meters (39ft by 42ft) plot of land, a monolithic volume is transformed in order to attain luminous indoor spaces. Slade stone at the exterior facades is contrasted with the soft beech like wood finish, achieving great definition and space discovery.

Tsm3 Unstable House in Madrid, Spain by Carlos Arroyo Arquitectos

Friday, May 24th, 2013

Article source: Carlos Arroyo Arquitectos

TSM3  Unstable House combines the restoration of the ground floor of a 59,80 sqm terraced property in the centre of Madrid, and the construction of 2,5 new floors on top, with 154 sqm. The design dematerializes the original construction into a flexible home-cum-office that can change anytime. All the elements that define the living space are in a state of flux. The architecture does not seek to define and limit through fixed elements such as structures, walls or gaps, but rather through a series of devices producing actions or situations.

BBS – Al Bayan Bilingual School in Sabah Al Salem, Kuwait by AGi Architects

Friday, May 24th, 2013

Article source: AGi Architects

The building for children should be created from the child’s point of view, where the design is set specifically to familiarize with their world. The design should also have the flexibility to evolve and grow simultaneously as the children themselves grow, laying the foundation of every form of learning in the future.
