Showcasing the creation of a new life for an old building, Landini Associates brief was to restore the former Collingwood industrial warehouse into the new headquarters base for T2.
The aim was to respect and celebrate the original building, while creating a dramatic statement to represent the T2 company’s ethos. Throughout the building, timber beams, columns and brick walls were sandblasted to bring back their original finish whilst a few scuffs and marks are kept as a remembrance of its history. This was contrasted with T2’s trademark dark, streamlined pallet.
Pop-Arq is an Argentinean branch of Supersudaca. At Supersudaca, and most of all with the Chilean architect Juan Pablo Corvalán, we developed the ‘mueblenstein’ concept, a mixture between furniture and Frankenstein. Those are objects that resolve several problems at a time by adding functions. In reduced or complex spaces, sometimes a single object can solve the whole architectural demand and linking functions not related.

The house is part of a typical Buenos Aires condominium typology called “PH”. The houses are aligned in a very long and narrow lot, and connected through a corridor. In this case, the unit is located in the middle of the condominium with no direct connection to the street, opening to its own patio. The lot area is quite small, measuring 7m by 6m.
Tucked away in the heart of Plateau Mont-Royal, on the private lot of a former commercial building, are these Siamese residences. Each co-property occupies half of the lot; their entrances are, respectively, on Mentana and Boyer streets.
The project’s constraints are those of the classic urban context: the envelopes of neighbouring buildings, joint use, and the challenge of natural light.
Twickenham Stadium, the home of English rugby, was looking to upgrade the customer experience at its food and beverage retail offers in order to be truly world-class across all areas of its offer in time for the 2015 Rugby World Cup, which England is set to host after winning the 2009 selection bid. At the same time, the stadium’s owners – the RFU (Rugby Football Union)- had changed a number of its core branding elements and these also had to be incorporated into any new designs. The result is the Twickenham Experience – a joint venture between the RFU and operator Levy Restaurants(the sports and leisure division of Compass UK & Ireland).

In the tradition of conceptual and visionary architecture proposals, SPARK Architects reveal their design for a floating hawker centre – the Solar Orchid. This concept for self-contained, solar-powered, floating hawker pods suggests a way to mend the now distant relationship between Singapore and its waterscapes, while celebrating and reinvigorating a favoured local pass time.

The rundown building housing Nièvre’s departmental archives has undergone rehabilitation and been provided with an extension. Two new buildings are positioned in parallel with the existing rehabilitated building.
The first, giving onto the street, is slightly stepped back to create an esplanade marking the public nature of this institution. The façades are formed from screen-printed glass panels with different gradations and levels of transparency that create reflections and random vibrations.
