Article source: Tekla Baku Olympic Stadium is a monumental project for the Republic of Azerbaijan where major multinational firms cooperated for an astonishing result. The project is under construction and the estimation of completion is in the beginning of 2015.
The structure consists of the following structural material:
The structure was modeled in two locations: Volos, Greece (Sdeng) and Istanbul, Turkey (Tefken Eng). Communication with the principal designers in Seoul, South Korea, (Heerim) and New York (Thornton Tomasetti) was a success story using BIM tools. From the kick-off meeting it was clear to all participants that this way of communication would be the only way to achieve maximum teamwork efficiency at such a limited time. Precast, reinforced concrete, main and secondary steel structures were all modeled using Tekla Structures 19.0 and full fabrication drawings were delivered to the contractor’s fabrication facility in ceyhan, Turkey. Reference models from Revit and 3dsMax for architectural components, skin facade and other components were also used. The Tekla model was also used to develop a 3D graphical animation of the complex roof installation procedure. Category: Stadium |
