Footpaths and Overlook in the Quilotoa Lake – Shalalá by Jorge Andrade Benítez, Javier Mera Luna and Daniel Moreno Flores

Tuesday, November 11th, 2014

Article source: Jorge Andrade Benítez, Javier Mera Luna and Daniel Moreno Flores

This Project starts with the acknowledgment of a conceptual challenge which structures the idea that generates the proposal: Which characteristics could an overlook have to be attractive even when all its natural surroundings offer interesting (and similar) views? This is due to the fact that the project is located in the top edge of the crater of an active volcano that has a lake inside of it, which creates multiple viewing opportunities along its surroundings.

Article source: heri&salli / miss_vdr architektur

The architecture offices heri&salli and miss_vdr architektur /Vienna conceived an exhibition design for the exhibition “Building Culture-think your city different” in the planning workshop in Vienna. The graphic design was supplied by zunder zwo/Vienna.

By means of simply piled up square timbers a kind of “shelf-system” was created. On the one hand it functions as storage area on the other hand it can be used as interactive space.

Article source: Ian Shaw Architekten BDA RIBA

Villa S is a cast in-situ concrete house, dramatically sited on a hillside above Schriesheim, in Baden-Württemberg, in southwest Germany. From its elevated position, the building offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside: to the south, the Black Forest; to the west, the Palatinate and the Rhine Valley; to the east, the Odenwald mountain range; and in the foreground, on a neighbouring hillside, the ruins of Strahlenburg Castle, originally built in 1295. Within this setting, the project presents itself as an elemental two-tier structure.

Toshin Satelite Preparatory School in Kobe, Japan by Matsuya Art Works.co.ltd.

Sunday, November 9th, 2014

Article source: Matsuya Art Works.co.ltd.

The building designed as the new school building for the Toshin Satellite Preparatory School is a rental property in an area with a high concentration of girls’ schools, with our client, Matsuo Gakuin, occupying the building as a tenant. The building in question faces a bustling shopping street which also serves as a busy school route for students. The exterior of the building facing the shopping district is made entirely of glass. It was anticipated that the impression created by the interior design of the building, visible to students passing by the glass exterior, would have a positive impact on increasing student enrollment numbers.

Dream Dairy Farm Restaurant in chiba, Japan by Moriyuki Ochiai Architects

Sunday, November 9th, 2014

Article source: Moriyuki Ochiai Architects

The following interior design was realized for a restaurant built on a farm surrounded by a lush forest.

Since the menu is characterized by the fact that dairy products, such as cheese and yogurt, made from fresh milk produced on-site at the dairy farm is used in each and all of their dishes, we were tasked with providing a space to attractively showcase said menu by evoking the imagery associated with the power of fresh ingredients and the natural setting of the forest surrounding the farm on which these quality products are made throughout the entire space.
