Casa MM in Escobar, Argentina by FAARQ architects

MM The house is located in a private neighborhood in the northern part of the Great Buenos Aires in Argentina, on a plot of 20mts x 50 mts, with direct access to the river.
The surface of the house measures 180m2 covered, with 3 bedrooms and living room with kitchen, ascending to 380m2 in expansive deck surfaces, terraces, barbecue grill, dock, patios, pool and gallery. Compositionally three materials predominate: masonry, wood and concrete together with large windows overlooking the river.

The longitudinal layout on the ground in the East-West axis, uses solar incidence throughout the day, and incorporates the green surroundings into the indoor, expanding the feeling of spatiality. Also the house’s longitudinal location in the land incorporates the river.

The challenge of this project is exploring the uses of indoor-outdoor space and public- private space, dependent of multiple possible uses, because as a weekend home it will accommodate different human groups: families, friends, partners, etc. as well as different uses of time, one afternoon, a weekend, a holiday, or permanent living. Each one of these surfaces: eaves, patio, deck, dock, gallery etc. embodies the potential of turning into a more private environment.
