Article source: SOMA architects Located in the mountains overlooking Beirut, Manoukian house responds to the severally sloping nature of the site as well as the surrounding mountains. The linear site orients south toward the views, and as such, the house is organized in an extremely linear nature.
The roof itself serves not only as the organizational framework for the house, but as an extension of the mountain – a monolithic formation which hovers over the glass encased house. The roof begins low over the more private areas of the house, and continues to fold and grow until its zenith over the living rooms, completely opening up to the views. Contact SOMA architects
