Article source: BUREAU A

The OSA Group (Organization of Contemporary Architects) was an architectural association formed in the Soviet Union during the 1920’s. It gathered important figures of what became known later as constructivist architecture. For the OSA, the architect was not only a builder, he also had to be a sociologist for the new era, a politician of the built environment, and a skilled technician to engineer the future.

Saturday, August 8th, 2015

Article source: PROJECTiONE

PROJECTiONE was commissioned to complete two projects for the Evansville Museum of Arts History and Science as part of an expansion project that included a new entrance pavilion. Cladding for the Immersive Theater was designed to exist as a natural, organic component encased in a clean white modern box. By using six species of wood veneer, a pixelated gradient is created that moves up through the dome from dark to light.

Dachas in Bariloche, Argentina by ALRICGALINDEZ ARQUITECTOS

Saturday, August 8th, 2015

Article source: ALRICGALINDEZ ARQUITECTOS

Dachas is a housing complex located in Bariloche in a sloped site facing the Nahuel Huapi lake. The word Dachas comes from Russian, meaning country home, log cabin, small rest area in a rural setting. The site is limited in its upper and lower sides by streets hidden in a dense woodland area, a peculiar urban situation, in which the building plays a key role in opening the area and introducing the landscape into the site.

Residential building DORNYK in Bratislava, Slovakia by Architekti SEBO LICHY

Saturday, August 8th, 2015

Article source: Architekti SEBO LICHY

This project demonstrates that economic limitation doesn’t have to limit architecture.  This story is about reconstruction of an old neglected school building into a fresh and functional residential house full of small-size flats. Nowadays, there is a great demand for small-size flats and price affordable living, especially among young people. This represents a big challenge for architects, when designing urban architecture.
