In a first for Luigi Rosselli Architects the camera has left the ground to pan over the penthouse additions to a classic Art Deco style apartment block built in the late 1920s. The penthouse’s defining feature is a bow window in the corner of the building facing the intersection of the street that reaches out to create a dialogue with the passers-by in the avenue below. The bow window is also reminiscent of windows found in the Captain’s Quarters at the stern of historic ships; borrowing from naval architecture was appropriate for the seaside location of Bondi Beach. The penthouse is separated from the existing brick unit block by a concrete slab and spandrel, this is a fire protection requirement. A wave of metal roofing conceals the upper level of the penthouse from the street. The wave dovetails towards the view, culminating in a balcony, of which two were designed but only one was allowed by the Council.
The exceptional natural setting of Suresnes – an undulating landscape, like an amphitheatre – orientates the town towards the river Seine and the Bois de Boulogne.
Pacemar SAS, holding company of Louis Dreyfus Armateurs, purchased one of these modern blocks, built in 1989. The original building, some 4,300 sq m built in reinforced concrete with a column-and-beam structure, was designed over six levels: an 88-place underground car park, a ground floor, and four upper levels.
The objective was the redevelopment and extension of an existing school – a building made from prefabricated concrete slabs in the 1970s – in the centre of Linz. The building’s extension closed a gap of surrounding perimeter block development while at the same time creating an independent ensemble. Easy access to public transport and the location within a dynamically developing urban area justify the expansion of the school site.

The site is where the elevated 101 Freeway connects to the surface streets at Market and becomes Octavia Boulevard – the entrance to north/west sector of San Francisco. The First Baptist Church with its classical façade and strong cornice is one pylon of this entrance. Mirroring this mass, on the other side of Octavia Boulevard, 8 Octavia completes the gateway. This entry is seen as an opportunity to present our new city, one that folds tradition and innovation.
An intimate and cozy housing estate in Mikołów located on the quiet outskirts of the city. The project includes twelve houses. The spatial arrangement is concentrated along the internal access road, the buildings contrast with the adjacent wall of the forest Due to the size of the plot, its geometric shape and inclination, and location in relation to the world directions the houses are grouped in a system similar to twin buildings – buildings are congruent to each other within the plot – yet because of the plot shape and sun exposure, congruent buildings are not identical.
DES A+E designed the High Garden to transform what would ordinarily be an underutilized parking deck into a green oasis. Instead of 250 parking spots, it has two-acres of greenspace. The park is one of the central amenities to the Moffett Place campus, which was recently leased to Google in its entirety. The campus is the 2nd largest office project under construction in Silicon Valley.
Intended for permanent residence, this single-family home was set in a flat corner lot of a little more than 900m2 in a new parceling in the North of Pinamar (seaside town in the Coast of Argentina) where the building density does not exceed two houses per block.

The Ross Langdon Health Education Centre is a small community hall located in the village of Mannya in Rakai, South-western Uganda. It provides space for about 150 people, sitting on simple clay tile steps, and for a speaker, standing on a small elevated platform. Adjacent to the hall is a room for private meetings and a store. At the front is a walkway covered by a pergola providing shade for informal gatherings and relaxation.
