14.05-VCE- 3PATIO HOUSE in Girona, Spain by Lagula Arquitectes

Wednesday, October 5th, 2016

Article source: Lagula Arquitectes

Classical palatial buildings and old industrial spaces, such as the medieval dockyards, both share (at least) three conditions. First of all, the space is continuous and flows from room to room. Secondly, the structural vanes are equivalent, regular and adaptable. And finally, the volume of the series of spaces is not only related to the room size, but also to the holistic interpretation of the building. Of course, other obvious features differentiate these two typologies.

GD Goenka in New Delhi, India by Design Forum International

Wednesday, October 5th, 2016

Article source: Epistle Communications

Educational Institutions across the globe are designed to facilitate the engagement of the young minds by creating interactive environments that are a blend of study, activity and play areas. In alignment with the same ethos, the GD Goenka group’s philosophy is to reinvent the school experience by creating the best physical infrastructure as per global standards, coupled with high quality, well-paidand motivated faculty. A simple and concise design brief was determined- to have class rooms that are equipped with the neoteric style of teaching and content. Unlike the use of traditional systems such as blackboards etc., novel educations tools take precedent in the contemporary education system; multimedia tools such as projectors, and adequate storage space for children to stack their bags, books, classrooms that are highly flexible to support a variety of formal and informal teaching methods etc. The design of the institutional development of a primary school (from kindergarten to class 5) enables these requirements while aiming to provide flexibility of spaces by making the building form itself as a part of the learning experience.

Article source: Banker Wire

It’s only fitting that a university building with multiple practices under one roof is employing the use of versatile woven wire mesh, manufactured by Banker Wire.

Banker’s mesh provides strong infill material that also meets the architect’s design intent for exterior stair and pedestrian bridge railings at the new Jacobs Hall on the University of California, Berkeley campus. The three-story, 24,000-square-foot building houses design studios, equipment labs, classrooms, and community space.

Les Horizons in Clichy, France by B+C Architectes

Article source: B+C Architectes

CONCEPT

The brief required a building with different office configurations and spaces capable of “being transformed” in a minimum timespan and effort.

Each configuration required the building to be able to create “atmospheres” and to “react” with different performances and characteristics, sometimes even contradictory ones. This for its image but also for its thermal, acoustic and even functional qualities.

Wednesday, October 5th, 2016

Article source: David Price Design

In the heart of the French countryside and near the town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, where Van Gogh painted over 150 of his most well-known works, a London family has created its perfect home-from-home. The detached house and grounds, re-modelled by David Price Design with a new extension, terraces and fun additions – including a boules pitch – feature an interior inspired by the rich colours of the Mediterranean and showcasing a wonderful, eclectic array of furnishings and accessories, variously inherited from previous owners and sourced anew by the home’s new owners via local Provençale markets, Kempton Park Antiques Market in UK and from holidays further afield.

Shenyang CR Land Twenty-Four City – Zen Art in Liaoning Province, China by Li Yizhong Interior Design

Wednesday, October 5th, 2016

Article source: Li Yizhong Interior Design

Zen is a realm of life and also an experience which can equip you for the whole life.

Zen is a mundane meditation, which emphasizes you to master inner peace. “Void” (in Buddhism) reaches the highest realm. Our hearts should not be attached to anything. Since the new realm appears, mind and matter have combined emotion and object into one.
