Automobile Museum in Nanjing, China by 3GATTI Architecture Studio

Sunday, October 9th, 2016

Article source: 3GATTI Architecture Studio

“Car Experience” is a project for a building to be dedicated to the automobile:  the car as an object of desire, a world to explore, a technology to study, an article to display  and a means to travel around the building.

Here the world of the automobile intersects with the human and organic world creating a new tectonic structure with methods differing from the usual flat open spaces, squares… all on a human scale.  Here everything is geared to the automobile – the car is the point of reference.

Flemish Barn Bolberg in Bavel, The Netherlands by Arend Groenewegen Architect

Sunday, October 9th, 2016

Article source: Arend Groenewegen Architect

Tucked away in the country side town of Breda, the Netherlands, sits a renovated old ‘flemish barn’ converted into an office. Developed by dutch firm arend groenewegen architect, the structure takes the ingredients of the original architecture form which consists of the wooden construction, low black facade and large thatched roof; and transforms it into a functioning work space. When the owner decided to stop his livestock business, the use of the existing barn built in the 1800, originally used for storage of hay and equipment needed a new vision. The renovation of the structure was in breach of the applicable zoning where the plot was designated as an ‘agricultural building block. The municipality changed the purpose of the area allowing an office to function in the space.

House Of Mirrors in Barcelona, Spain by nook architects

Sunday, October 9th, 2016

Article source: nook architects

The projects we have done so far have had very centric locations within the city of Barcelona:  Ciutat Vella, Eixample, Gràcia, Poble Nou… This time, however, it was at the centre of it all. Located in Plaça Catalunya, the first thing we did was to look out from the generous balcony doors to the urban sights outside, from a very privileged location on one of the building’s top floors. It was then that we knew that the day zones were to be located towards these valuable openings to the city’s frenetic rhythm.
