Banker Wire Mesh Outfits State-of-the-Art Indoor Soccer Stadium in Montréal, Canada

Friday, December 2nd, 2016

Article source: Banker Wire

Built in the center of one of Montréal’s most diverse neighborhoods, the Stade de Soccer de Montréal is a new visual and cultural symbol in the city. Utilizing custom-fabricated Banker Wire mesh partitions around its indoor playing field, the stadium provides tens of thousands of soccer players with a first-class practicing and playing environment.

The design of the Stade de Soccer de Montréal pays homage to and blends in with its surrounding landscape – a former quarry now being turned into what will be the largest urban park in Montréal. Outside, the stadium shows its versatility as a structure built around the topography, not despite it.

Article source: Studio RHE

Built in 1993, Republic is a 600,000 square feet office development with retail and leisure amenities and 471 car parking spaces situated on a prominent 6.4-acre island site in the London Docklands. It is currently being refurbished and reimagined by Trilogy Property and La Salle Investment Management to appeal to the burgeoning innovation, co-working, cultural and tech sectors. With a distinctive building wrap from Studio Hingston and designs from award-winning architect Studio RHE, Republic aims to provide competitive rents to young talent priced out of central London locations such as the West End and Shoreditch.

Republic’s location, directly accessed by East India DLR station in E14, anticipates the eastward migration of the creative and digital sectors and cultural institutions, such as the English National Ballet’s move to London City Island and Olympicopolis in Stratford, and enjoys a Zone 2 location and transport links which connects in minutes to the established business districts of Canary Wharf, the City and West End, as well as the cultural neighbourhoods of Stratford and Shoreditch.

Article source: Studio Alfredo Häberli

Alfredo Haeberli:

I still have the copy of my letter, which I wrote in 2008 – and a copy of the woman’s magazine from back then. “Women changing the world” – I was so deeply impressed by it, I simply could not understand, that you wouldn’t respond in any way. Today we are strolling around the finished house, which we have developed together. Quite impressive, how this thing has taken speed.

LD 2 COUNTRY HOUSE in Moscow Oblast, Russia by DNK ag

Friday, December 2nd, 2016

Article source: DNK ag

The house and surrounding landscape form one strong unit. The terrace overhangs the pond. Garage and maintenance building are constructed as a hill with a park above. The hill conceals terrace from the road. All the inner house facades are made from water resistant and super strong merbau wood. The outer contour is a frame of Jurassic stone (!!!!).Windows are equipped with extendable wooden jalousie. They allow light through and give sense of privacy at the same time. The interior is the same color scheme as the facade: red wooden and grey-beige stone shades. The architects developed interior and construction parts, starting from the door knobs to magnificent dominate staircase. The upper light fixtures open the interior to sun beams.

Sunshine Beach House in Queensland, Australia by Shaun Lockyer Architects

Friday, December 2nd, 2016

Article source: Shaun Lockyer Architects

The Sunshine Beach House explores the coastal aesthetic through the use of greying timbers and natural materials in a bold, but equally eclectic, architectural expression. The house is planned around a sequence of courtyards (north and south) that offer a very comfortable year-round lifestyle. Built by Wade Jenner (who along with his wife Claire is also the owner), this project afforded us a wonderful opportunity to develop and craft ideas we’ve had for a long time with someone who trusted us enough to make them real.
