Dmail new logo and new format store in Milan, Italy by Migliore+Servetto Architects

Monday, November 6th, 2017

Article source: Migliore+Servetto Architects

A dynamic and lively sign able to express the meaning of a young, curious brand, is the new logo designed by Migliore+Servetto Architects for dmail. The circle is the generating element that defines the soft borders of the single letters, while two dots, placed over the beam of the “i”, mark its uniqueness. From a chromatic point of view black and white are combined with a uniform bright yellow, a symbol of light and energy.

Louis de Vion school group in Montévrain, France by AAVP Vincent Parreira

Monday, November 6th, 2017

Article source: AAVP Vincent Parreira

Once across the threshold of this school complex near Paris delivered by the architect Vincent Parreira, the child enters a non-standard world, one that evokes the troglodyte houses,  vernacular architecture… or a pupil’s escape.

In the 21st century metropolises, as urbanization has continued to expand, there are still some areas that have remained virgin territory. The site chosen for building the school was such a case. At the time of the competition, it was an empty lot bordered by vast farming concerns, the famous caricature that seemed a thing of the past, the “beet fields” that saw new towns and housing projects popping up during the post war boom decades. In a context with vague outlines, the building takes up its position, organized to form a little miniature town, a school hamlet. It extends along a narrow little pedestrian street, forming a continuous built front, but fragmented into several volumes and providing access to the various parts of the program: primary school, leisure center, and caretaker’s lodge.

Article source: Olson Kundig

In designing a new fifteen-story headquarters for international luxury clothier Shinsegae International, Olson Kundig sought to create an iconic landmark in the heart of Gangnam-gu, one of Seoul’s largest districts. Completed in 2015, the building unites more than five hundred Shinsegae employees, who were previously spread between several buildings throughout the city. The program includes staff offices and meeting spaces, design studios, a rooftop garden and sculpture park, and ground-level retail and restaurant space that face onto a public plaza. Secure zoned entry provides public building access from the street and controlled private access for corporate officers and VIP guests via a side entry.
