Article source: LAD

The “Supreme Sport Village” is a sports center located in Rome, in a suburb called Tor Sapienza, close to the eastern border of the city between Via Collatina and Via Prenestina.

The project is situated in the green spaces along Viale Giorgio Morandi and is placed in the center of the area, therefore the architectural volume works as a filter between the parking lot and the sports fields.

Hungry Man Productions Headquarters in Los Angeles, California by Freelandbuck

Monday, December 18th, 2017

Article source: Freelandbuck

FreelandBuck has recently completed an 8,000squarefoot office interior for Hungry Man Productions headquarters in Los Angeles. Asked to rethink the organization of the office, the project aims to match the lightheartedness of Hungry Man’s identity with a series of tumbled cubicles that playfully challenge the regularity of the typical office space.

#6 in Singapore by Studio Wills + Architects

Monday, December 18th, 2017

Article source: Studio Wills + Architects

#6 is an A&A (Additions and Alterations) to an existing pair of semi-detached houses in the eastern part of Singapore. This pair of houses, ‘mirrored’ along a shared party-wall, became stark contrast in scale when one of the pair was rebuilt, dwarfing its other half. This spurred the owner of the other half to rebuild their house.

The unique deployment of readily available ventilation blocks and simple climatic devices such as deep overhangs in #6 resulted in a sculptural quality for the new extension, Image Courtesy © Beton Brut

Monday, December 18th, 2017

Article source: AMZ Arquitetos

Located in an Atlantic Forest  reserve in the coast of the state of São Paulo, the Tijucopava house faces the sea view and the surrounding exuberant landscape.

Installed on a steep slope, its structure can be defined in two parts: a monolithic concrete base supporting the garage and the pool and, on top of it, a modular wooden structure, profiled by a glass frame. Each module in the structure houses one of the bedrooms, the private bathrooms of which are pervaded by natural light and ventilation from the continuous rooflights that run across the roof.

European Central Bank in Frankfurt, Germany by COOP HIMMELB(L)AU

Monday, December 18th, 2017

Article source: COOP HIMMELB(L)AU

The striking twin tower shapes the skyline of Frankfurt’s Ostend

The design of the Viennese architectural studio Coop Himmelb(l)au for the new premises of the European Central Bank in Frankfurt combines the horizontal structure of the landmarked Grossmarkthalle with a twisted double tower, which rises to 185 meters. United by an entrance building, these two elements form an ensemble of special architectural significance. Featuring bridges, pathways and platforms, the glass atrium between the two highrises creates a vertical city. The semi-public and communicative functions are located in the former Grossmarkthalle. The exceptional atrium and visible steel support structure show that the ECB building belongs to an entirely new typology of skyscrapers.

Monday, December 18th, 2017

Article source: UNStudio

The UNStudio designed Kutaisi International Airport was recently voted one of the 13 most beautiful airports in the world by ‘Curbed magazine’ (May 2017).

Just four and a half years after its official opening (September 2012), the airport has grown rapidly from 12,915 passengers per year to more than 300,000 in 2016. Predictions for the low-cost airliner airport are such that it is expected to reach a capacity of close to 1,000,000 passengers by 2020. In order to facilitate this predicted growth UNStudio has now been invited to design a large extension to the existing terminal.

Article source: NAN Architects

A work, being an event that takes place in a certain time and obey an expression of requirements and solutions, always tells a history.

The story of this book talks about how to make a virtue of necessity; constant struggle between lack of time and money always comes (we have not had any clients to give us a blank check, and on second thought, we hinder our work even more) when projected a local hostelry.
