House on the Hills in Cervarese Santa Croce, Italy by MIDE architetti

Sunday, February 10th, 2019

Article source: MIDE architetti

The lot is located inside the Euganean Hills Regional Park, surrounded by green hills, on the top of one of them stands the neo-Gothic Villa Serenella.

The project strategy capitalizes on the morphological opportunities the site offers by developing a single-story house, guaranteeing continuity between the living spaces and the surrounding greenery.

Est64 in Bangkok, Thailand by Silp Architects

Sunday, February 10th, 2019

Article source: Silp Architects

The Est 64 is a 1000 sqm office building project, converted from a 40-year-old warehouse on Sukhumvit 64, Punnawithi Railway Station. The former warehouse building was built as a two story reinforced concrete structure, with one mezzanine level and one flat roof. It rests along a long and narrow plot of land of 10m in width and 40m in length.

The front of the building is west facing with a 10×10 sqm open yard. The building is parallel to a local road and opposite an international school’s parking lot. The back of the building is in close proximity to the roll house that opens to Sukhumvit road, which makes Est 64 a very accessible and convenient location. During the construction stage, a single-story building on the left became the temporary site office for the contracting company. Right to the building are warehouses with metal louvre façade, which later on became an inspiration for this Est 64 project.

Pacífico Sur Club in Lima, Peru by Nikolas Briceño arquitecto

Sunday, February 10th, 2019

Article source: Nikolas Briceño arquitecto

The Pacífico Sur Club, which was founded in the 60s in Lima´s coast, has a surfing tradition. Seventy five percent of its associates practice this sport: surfing defines what the sea means to them. As it usually occurs with other buildings of the time, it became necessary to formulate a series of changes that would cover the new needs of the associates.

The changes had to be respectful with the essence of the club, that is:  its unique character and the contact with the sea. Every change had to be careful in improving the functional aspect, as well as strengthening the spaces. New materials to match with the already existent were to be implemented.

Beam Pavilion in Hejian, China by Yzscape

Article source: Yzscape

The Guyang River, situated in the eastern of He Jian City, is a part of the ancient waterway around the river in history. However, in modern times, the waterway has been abandoned, and the large waste from the surrounding factories and residential areas made the ancient waterway a drain. The Guyang River Park we designed and built is the important part of the renovation of the water system around the city: dredging waterways, rectifying water bodies and ecological restoration of water bodies and surrounding areas. We expand the water surface and add walkways and structures around the waterway for people to pass and rest. The new Guyang River have become a place for residents to relax and integrate into nature in addition to flood discharge function.

Gafarim House in Ponte de Lima, Portugal by Tiago do Vale Arquitectos

Sunday, February 10th, 2019

Article source: Tiago do Vale Arquitectos

This is a project of tense duality between vernacular principles and a neoplastic understating of shape, place and landscape.

In a naturally fragmented and disconnected context, the Gafarim House offers monolithic, opaque volumes to the street, citing the compact, parallelepipedic masses of northern Portuguese popular architecture and adjusting its scale to the surroundings.

It appears with autonomy in its context -an independent object among independent objects- and, in its economy of shape and detailing, it distances itself from the post-rural decorativism that is the norm in today’s Portuguese countryside.

In the heart of “El Barrio de las Letras”, the design overlaps various references forming an explosive and complex tandem.

The objective was to create a hotel where one could breath a free and fun atmosphere with a disruptive touch, which would invite different types of public to enjoy the public areas of the hotel.

Introduction to Hotel Axel Madrid

The design of the AXEL Hotel on Atocha Street in Madrid superposes a series of historic references forming a complex and explosive tandem.

One of the starting points is the privileged location of the AXEL Hotel in the very midst of Madrid’s literary neighborhood, today the epicenter of the city’s most cosmopolitan environment.

Redevelopment and Enlargement of Raicam Industrie s.r.l. Bruzolo headquarters in Italy by Rocco Valentini Architecture

Sunday, February 10th, 2019

Article source: Rocco Valentini Architecture

The project for the Raicam Industrie S.R.L. in Bruzolo (Torino-Italy) was basically realized in two steps, the first provided only the connection between two existing buildings and the second was the construction of a new building, the new Tech Center, to complement the existing one.

The connection (2013-2015) in steel and plexiglass is a makeover of an industrial building of the fifties. Very organic in its forms, recalls the angular shapes of the mountain ridges chefs from the background of the factory.

In the immediate vicinity of the new Vienna central station, the Sonnwendviertel East is arising along the Helmut-Zilk-Park. Based on a cooperative master plan, a district of diverse uses is developing where eleven of the buildings are going to be so-called “Quartiershäuser” – characterised by the idea and aim to fuse service and living in a modern urban context. Characteristic of these are a public use of the ground floor which aims to animate the immediate neighbourhood. To ensure this outcome, the future users of the ground floor spaces were involved already during the competition phase.
