Intelligent Logistics Center PROTO in Ichikawa, Japan by Bureau 0–1

Monday, July 29th, 2019

Article source: Bureau 0–1

Bureau 0–1 designed a showroom to experience firsthand the futuristic logistics center in which robots and people work together. This facility is located in a gigantic distribution depot that opened in April of 2018 and operated by Daiwa House Group. It is a first project for Bureau 0–1 that exceeds 1000 m². [Opened in June of 2016, DPL Ichikawa is the distribution depot located in Ichikawa, Chiba Prefecture.]

Nested in the depot with its rough, industrial aesthetics, we created a new world that begins with the carefully choreographed circulation, and eventually, leading up to the meeting space from which you can see the futuristic distribution system. Under the design concept of “Tectonic,” we sought to design a space that evolves with the systems, technology, and people who work there, and can transform over time.

Box XL Houses in Guimaraes, Portugal by Zegnea Architectura

Monday, July 29th, 2019

Article source: Zegnea Architectura

The Box XL Houses is a seven houses development arranged in a diverse way, creating different relationships with the environment. The aim was to achieve a balance between the “constructed” and the “natural”, between the “mass” and the “void” so that these two antagonistic realities would form a peaceful and continuous dialogue, enhancing each other. The idea adopted in the project and the division of the lots was carried out to allow the creation of space between the constructed mass, thus obtaining a visual permeability with the landscape.

Article source: AFARQ Arquitectos

Casa Aglae is our proposal for a weekend house in Santo Domingo, a coastal area located 120 km. from Santiago.

The strong winds that predominate in the summer from the west, made us raise the house in parallel to the length of the land, in east-west direction, forming an interior courtyard protected as the predominant area of the house.

Residence ML in Brazil by Anastasia Arquitetos

Monday, July 29th, 2019

Article source: Anastasia Arquitetos

The ML residence is located in the city of Nova lima , state of Minas Gerais. The plot is in a mountanious site with an average slope of 53 per cent.

In order to avoid permanent retaining walls (structures) it was decided that the interference in the topography and earthwork would be minimum as well as the number of building pillars, the result being a ‘volume’ which would appear lighter and detached from the ground.

We have also created two concrete walls on the north and South elevations, which not only define the volume of the house, but also prevent the waste of material, as we used metalical formworks.

Residence Villa Drei Birken is located on a hillside at the end of a residential area in the Dolomites. The Villa, built in 1960 and renovated in the 80’s, originally consisted of a simple and low volume with owner’s apartment and four holiday flats. The new extension adds six holiday apartments as well as functional and common spaces. The facade opens through a V-shaped surface from the mostly closed North facade to the completely glazed South facade, facing the sun and the panoramic view of the Dolomites.
