Located in one of the most developed areas of the city of Querétaro, AIRA consist in a 35 apartaments housing tower, which moves within a narrow and deep area. It’s compact volumetry responds to the objective of incorporating open space and green areas, and as a forceful vertical response to a area dominated by horinzontality.

The proposal consisted of the development of seven prototypes of apartments distributed in 4 houses per level along the tower in which the arrangement of the apartments allow dynamism in the building’s its openings, and provides interesting views of the landscape of Querétaro.

The project is defined by integration of public and coexistence spaces, such as the plaza terraces and gardens and amenities. Based on the above, it was decided to place the construction in the center of the property to generate free spaces, having a wooded plaza for community use to the north, and a more private garden to the south.

The shape of the building arises from treating the object as a stone sculpture fron the outside the monolith is drilled and cut, and from the inside the visuals are framed and the space becomes confortable by allowing the flow of ventilation and natural lighting in the route of the space.

The aim was to give a natural feeling to the building, which is reflected in the green nuances of the planters distributed on the facade, contrasting with the pigmented concrete walls that resemble the color of the region’s land. In this way, a certain subtlety is generated in this volumetry and allows the building to age gracefully.
