Mornington Beach Houses in Victoria, Australia by Habitech Systems

Wednesday, February 1st, 2017

Article source: Habitech Systems

This project on the Mornington foreshore creates two double storey houses on a lot facing Mills Beach and bordering the mouth of Tanti Creek with full utilisation of Habitech’s panel system.

Situated near Melbourne in the Victorian town of Mornington, the brief to design two beach houses was primarily driven by the opportunity to create living spaces with extensive northern views over Port Phillip Bay, and both the opportunities and limitations of its creek side location. One house has been designed for our clients to live in, with the second house being offered for sale upon completion.

In the project the attic apartment of an apartment house was expanded by an additional room. The apartment is conformed over 2 floors. On the upper floor there are the living-room and the kitchen, on the lower the bedrooms.

Due to the client’s whish that the  extension should meet several uses, this expansion was consciously left without precise function.

Wednesday, February 1st, 2017

Article source: PANDA – Person and Architecture

The site is located in a residential district, which is easily accessible from a principal road. It is a so-called “flagpole-shaped site”, meaning that the rectangular site is located at some distance from the public road and linked to it by a long and narrow path. The site is surrounded by two-story and three- story buildings on the four sides. The client requested an indoor garage so that he can enjoy looking at his beloved car from living room and also an inclined roof with solar panels.

The Wood Duck in Québec, Canada by L’Abri

Wednesday, February 1st, 2017

Article source: L’Abri

The Wood Duck is L’Abri’s first built house design. A simple concept, rational plan and traditional methods of construction were put forward to simplify the construction of the project, self-build by a young carpenter with a modest budget. The architecture is humble : the little wood volume recedes in the landscape.

This little house was drawn for a young carpenter wishing to self-build his first home in Bolton, in the Eastern Townships of Quebec.

White Gallery in Tehran, Iran by [SHIFT] Process Practice

Wednesday, February 1st, 2017

Article source: [SHIFT] Process Practice

The White Gallery is an architectural exercise in realigning the potentials and limitations of “in-fill” typology when it comes to creating a performative space for exhibition of art work.

The explicit and deliberate difference, in both figuration and configuration of the interior and exterior of the project, highlights the challenges to be faced in juxtaposition of the duo of typology and program.

House Rheder II in Brakel, Germany by Falkenberg Innenarchitektur

Wednesday, February 1st, 2017

Article source: v2com

“In a time of excess we have built a house that makes the essentials tangible,” says the client.

The house has become a place of retreat, a building that deliberately withdraws and allows the surrounding landscape to present itself to the full. Over the softly rushing waters of the stream, with a wide view into the green East-Westphalian landscape, the stress and hustle and bustle of everyday life is quickly forgotten.

90 Fabric Street: ink & Booze Cocktail in Madrid, Spain by Egue y Seta

Wednesday, February 1st, 2017

Article source: Egue y Seta

Let’s face it, at fairs you work, you do business, sales and contacts, but you also do your fair share of drinking. And while Madrid´s edition of Cprint! could hardly be targeted as the abstemious exception to that rule, if, on top of that, what you intend to “sell” is precisely the suitability of the media manufactured by Endutex for the interior decoration of dining facilities and retail spaces, would it not be just right to recycle the typical stand, generally an open and strictly corporate showroom, into a traditional but sophisticated Irish Pub acclimatized to the local warmth and colour, while season it all up with the look & feel of the materials, patterns and trends of the greatest actuality when it comes to interior design? In Egue and Seta, we thought it was well worth a shot, and once done, we toasted! If you want to “taste” the result, come in, raise your glass and say Cheers!
