Rainy・Sunny in Tokyo, Japan by Mount Fuji Architects Studio

Thursday, January 19th, 2017

Article source: Mount Fuji Architects Studio

The site is there in a residential area in Tokyo, dense with low-rise buildings, located a little bit west to the center of the Kanto plain.
The climate there is about to change from warm humid climate to rainforest climate in near future.

I’m not making a “house” this time. It should be a lasting “terrain” that induces “habitation”. My goal is to shape the terrain up to a freshly designed “residence” with no preestablished harmony sensed.

This semi-rural/semi-urban new alternative development of 30 hectares is located in the governorate of Manouba on a hill near the Medjerda river on the South West edge of Jedeida city limits. Its eco-friendly planning design preserves and utilizes an existing olive grove estate, by placing small individual pavilions for collective housing and service facilities within its 4 475 existing salvaged olive trees and by planting tall sized trees plus a wild botanical garden for more local bio-diversity.

Wednesday, January 18th, 2017

Article source: ccArquitectos

Built between two leaf-vegetable production warehouses, the idea behind this project was to locate the complex’s offices in a space that would draw attention to the constant interaction of the management departments in order to create a harmonious environment, moving away from the traditional office feel and toward a collective experience of working together with a shared purpose.

NEW NEUE GALERIE – MUSEUM OF THE 20TH CENTURY in Berlin, Germany by MCKNHM Architects and Tinkercraft

Wednesday, January 18th, 2017

Article source: MCKNHM Architects

The building assignment, calling for a new element between “icons of 20th century architectural history,“ Mies Van Der Rohe’s Neuer National Gallery and Hans Scharoun’s Berlin Philharmonics among other listed buildings of high cultural and architectural significance, requires both a sensitive and strong architectural as well as urban intervention. To us, composition, clarity and austerity all coalesce to form an appropriate response, situated at the nexus of the urban fabric at Berlin’s Cultural Forum.

The Poetics of Slow Office Space in Shanghai, China by Muxin Design and Research

Wednesday, January 18th, 2017

Article source: Sunshine PR

Indeed, the images I want to examine are the quite simple images of felicitous space. In this orientation, these investigations would deserve to be called topophilia.

Gaston Bachelard, The Poetics of Space

The politics of space, as advocated tirelessly by Lefebvre, is materialized as ubiquitous nets of power relations, rending all the office spaces a colosseum of power.

Rosemoo Office in Beijing, China by Cun-Design

Wednesday, January 18th, 2017

Article source: Sunshine PR

Beauty of orient lies in the lyric way of expressing emotions and its simple and natural nature. Such characteristics are not superficial symbols or cultural elements imposed on inner nature. Symbols and elements are not essential in design and they themselves only could not build up good designs! Beauty of Asia lies more in the flexible way of design.
