The People Mover designed for the city of Bologna is a transport system that is innovative in terms of technology, the regulation of circulation and architectural features. The infrastructure, with a total length of 5084 metres, is composed of a monorail, with two terminals – at the airport and the train station and the intermediate stop of Lazzaretto, about halfway along the route, where the cars cross. The stop includes the depot and workshop, as well as the centralized control station. The stops and the bridge over the ring-road/motorway system were designed based on a type of architecture that takes into account the need to connect an infrastructure to an urban fabric that will undergo major redevelopment work, but that is partially absorbed by the outlying countryside. Its stops are set in different contexts in terms of both architectural structure and urban fabric. The stops are connected to each other via a route with a walkway running along the track, serving as a passenger escape route in case of emergency.
Going back to the roots in a frame of contemporaneity is the interior design manifesto of a new and surprising suite concept designed by In Out Studio.
LE SUD SUITE is born from a very personal reflection of Nayra Iglesias, director of the studio, about the current situation we are living in: “Mother Earth is warning us that we have to change the way we live and, consequently, we have to redirect the way we design”.
Beauty, health and well-being are some of the terms that are both debated and recurrent present in the history of humanity; Clinique La Prairie, with its first Aesthetics & Longevity center outside of Switzerland, located in the center of Madrid, wants to continue being identified with these concepts. As pioneers in cell therapies who are considering acting against the aging process, where technical innovation is at the level of medical care, this Clinique is linked to a sophisticated luxury hospitality, this is where the challenge of this project seems to be: how to translate and build all these concepts to the space / time of an aesthetic medicine clinic?

With the Viale Giulini Affordable Housing project, Rome-based studio Alvisi Kirimoto is redesigning the outskirts of Barletta (Puglia) through a social housing intervention. The project, located in the south-west of the city, in the new Zona 167 district, aims to fuse the urban macro-scale with the domestic dimension, within a larger system of projects to revitalize the neighbourhood, including the Parco dell’Umanità — Design of the pedestrian promenade by ABDR.
The studio has long been committed to the theme of urban regeneration in Italy and beyond – from its commitment with Renzo Piano for the G124 working group, to the open construction site of a nursery school, civic centre, library and park in Grotta Perfetta in the southern suburbs of Rome, and the activation of experimental laboratories in the large shopping centres in the peripheries of the cities of Nanjing and Shanghai in China.
