“There’s nothing absolutely new, but there is an endless amount of connections and relations between forms, materials and technologies that are not yet made. Innovation means discovering them.” This is how we developed the project about Villa #29.
As a house of a young couple with their two kids (5 and 7), located in a residential complex of a closed-type, it defines a particular lifestyle and a set of requirements. The modern cosmopolitan mind and its vision for a city retreat – bringing comfort, high-tech and sophisticated, yet close to nature.
“This is a 100% smart-house. Absolutely everything is controlled with a cell phone. It was fun even while we photoshooted it, as someone had set the curtains on the first floor to be controlled by the switches in the master bedroom.”
Skolkovo is the Russian government initiative for a new urban community at the 3rd ring of Moscow, 17 km west from the Kremlin. Built ex nihilo, the aim of Skolkovo is to create a globally reputed centre for innovative 21st century technology, embracing research and production, with administrative headquarters for both established and emerging companies, schools, institutes, and a new university. The Skoltech University, as a newly founded institution, rises together with the rest of Skolkovo, and aims to be a distinguished educational and research cen-tre for Moscow, Russia and the whole world.

Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners (RSHP) and Aedas has today unveiled their design for one of the buildings – “Passenger Clearance Building” (PCB) amongst the boundary crossing facilities at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port which provides a new entry point into Hong Kong.
The Old Church of Vilanova de la Barca (Lleida, Spain) is a 13th century Gothic building that was partially demolished in 1936 as a result of the bombings during the Spanish Civil War. Since then, the church had been in a general state of ruin, preserving just its apse, some fragments of the naves and the west façade. The main aim of the project was to recover the rests of the ancient church and to restore its original appearance while transforming the old structure in a new multi-purpose hall. The project aims to establish an architectural dialogue between the old parts and the new elements, between the past and the present.
Due to the poor technical condition of the old kindergarten building, authorities of Zlotniki Kujawskie decided to undertake a tendering procedure for a design of a new building for 125 pupils, grouped in 5 departments and to use the same, extensive building plot. The basic criteria which have to be met by the newly designed facility, in addition of course being in accordance with the planning decision describing rules of the location of investment of public purposes, were firstly the need of locating all functions of the building at the ground floor block, so that all the rooms have direct access to the garden with a playground and secondly the use of the simplest and cheapest ways of building in particular the technology of masonry construction with polystyrene blocks as thermal insulation and plastered facades, all to fit a small budget for this purpose.
This project was to expand and relocate an orthodontic dentistry, which has been in Jeonju for 25 years, to a larger scale. It has as much number of patients as it’s history and fame, and so it required symbolism in accordance with the recognition.
The bright orange plus sign at the entrance energizes fitness seekers with an extra burst of power and endurance.
Surrounded with bright orange acrylic paneling, the cylindrical waiting area is a perfect place for people to chat and relax while they wait for their class to start.
The waiting area also displays a selection of Plustime fitness clothing and accessories.
Hills Golf & Sports Club is located in the stunning recreation area Sandsjöbacka in Mölndal, a commuter municipality south of Gothenburg. The golf course was inaugurated in 2005 and named after its designer Arthur Hills. Like many golf courses around the world, Hills Golf and Spots Club decided to broaden its business model by building and selling housing next to the golf course and attaching club memberships to these dwellings. The residential development was initiated in 2016 and named Hills. The first building phase contains 56 single-family houses designed by Sweco Architects and five apartment buildings designed by Unit.
Presented with a client holding a prominent position within the New Zealand couture fashion industry, we explored the metaphor of tailoring to provide an altered silhouette and ‘clothing’ for an existing plastered home with Modernist intentions. As such, this project became a study in finding methods to express hems, darts and trims to create a crafted and bespoke re-clad solution.
